Atlanta Falcons coach Arthur Smith angry at New Orleans Saints coach after late TD

First thought: You got your a$$ handed to you 41-17 and you're pissed that they made it 48?
Second thought: The players going rogue on the last TD = no bueno. Saints coach oughta be the angry one, not the Falcons coach.

 

Couple of coaches who should be fired, one for not having control of his team the other for throwing a hissy fit because the other team ran it up on them.

 

The guy that looks the worst here is the one complaining about having the last TD scored against him. Just a really bizarre thing to be upset about.

When Jameis got them in the huddle he took a vote and it was unanimous because the guy hadn’t scored a TD all year, so he called it despite the coach asking for a knee.
On the list of Jameis incidents over the years this probably isn’t even top 10. But the dude just can’t get out of the way of controversy.

 

That Jamaal Williams TD helped me win a FF championship. If I ever run into Jameis at Publix I'll buy him some crab legs as a thank you...and so that Publix can actually get paid for them.

 

It didn’t appear there was, but had a bonus/incentive been tied to that TD, I wouldn’t blame the Saints players

I think it was a bush league move by the Saints but not surprised at all that Winnie was the ring leader- I was surprised former Falcons Coach did not deck the Saints Coach. They lined up in victory formation and then handed the ball off and then winnie celebrated like the score had just won the game.

I cannot believe I am saying this, but I agree with Jameis Winston’s call to take a vote and let Jamaal Williams get his first and only TD of the year. These guys get paid to play football, so let them play. If the NFL did not want teams running up the score they would create a mercy rule. I bet the Saints fans loved it, especially if they were fans of Jamaal.

 

If the falcons coach lives long enough I bet he gets over it!

If you want to score, that’s fine. But lining up in victory formation and THEN running it, is BS. Guys can get hurt that way. Come to the line, let the defense know “we are live”, and I don’t have an issue.

As others have posted, showing vic formation then running a play is bush league. Zero exception.

Running the play per vote in huddle is problem between coach and players. Showing VF then running play, is problem between bush leaguers and the NFL.

Every team in the NFL ought to blitz their bench at the Saints whenever they have oppy for vic formation, if they don't can Rapeis' ass STAT, and with prejudice, bc anything short of that = approval.
