NFL Sunday afternoon. January 7, 2024. 1:00 P.M. ET. CBS. The Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7). At. The Tennessee Titans (5-11). Line. Jacksonville 5 1/2 40 1/2 Tennessee Titans.
This is one thing I really hate NFL about their TV COVERAGE. Jaguars are an NFL team in Florida they are suppose to be on. CBS. But CBS is showing Falcons vs Saints. Neither of those teams are in Florida! NFL sucks!
Love seeing the Jaguars lose. Just not a fan at all especially after ETN’s social media stuff. Also, not a huge Doug Peterson fan as I think he gets way too much credit for building this team
Jags tanked down the stretch. I think they lost 5 of their last 6 games. Lawrence has been playing with a bad shoulder, but he's not very accurate for a #1 draft pick who's been in the league for 4 years. The main issue with the Jags is their offensive line, though. One of the worst in the NFL. And today, the usually reliable defense didn't play very well and missed a ton of tackles. I've been a Jags fan since they first came to the league. We were living up there at the time and it was exciting with Mark Brunell & Co. Always pull for them and the Bucs, no matter who is the coach or who the players are.
I've tried being a fan of the Jags since they joined the league. Making it to the AFC championship game in their second year was exciting especially when they beat the Broncos. It has been difficult, with the exception of a few of years. Every year it seems to come down to beating the Titans and they just can't do it. Here is a good trivia question. In the 1999-2000 season the Jags ended the season at 14-3, who did they lose to? The answer is the Titans (two regular season games and the AFC Championship game). To make things worse, this loss today let the team I hate most in the NFL into the playoffs. So frustrating.
We swept the Titans last year. And that was a way better team than what they played today. Jags just couldn’t close this year. I think the situational play-calling has been highly suspect (maybe due to protection issues) and the Defense regressed bad. I see some fellow Gator fans still carry a grudge that the Jags didn’t draft Tebow like they were obligated to. Maybe redirect that anger to the Broncos instead
How about don’t hold a grudge against any of these pro teams, none of them are obligated to do any favors for UF players lol
I think the loss of Christian Kirk was huge for the Jaguars. He was their only real deep threat would could stretch the defense. With him out, the defenses could play closer to the line, knowing the Jags O-line couldn't sustain a running game and allowing the secondary to lock down on receivers more . Doug Peterson, to me, is an excellent coach who has improved the Jags a lot, considering how bad they were when he took over. But there are still holes to fill before they can move into the upper echelon of teams. And as always it starts with the trenches on both sides of the ball.
The Broncos weren't obligated to keep him, either. My bitterness is all toward Rex Ryan and the Jets for refusing to give him a chance. What the hell did they even trade to get him for? He was 2nd string until Buttfumble got hurt, then he was suddenly and mysteriously 3rd string, passed over for Game Manager Greg. The way he was treated there left me thinking the NFL viewed Tim as a problem they just wanted to get rid of.
I don't blame Denver at all. They drafted Tebow in the first round and paid him millions. Nobody else did that.
