This is only the 2nd time in 18 NC games that will not have a SEC team. Ironically the other time was a Big 10 team vs a Pac 12 team. Osu/Oregon.

 

This is for all intents and purposes the last great Rose Bowl matchup, #1 vs. #2. The undefeated champions of the Big 10 vs. the undefeated champions of the PAC 12 the last time it will ever matter.

For the first time in his tenure at Alabama, Nick Saban has gone more than 3 years without winning a national championship. Big changes underway and on the way and nobody knows where it will lead.

I had forgotten about this game.

 

Yeah it's just not interesting. A team from a dead conference that not too many people watched due to time zone differences (I've never seen them play) vs the most unlikeable weirdo in sports.
