I will be happy to entertain your explanation for why the per/40 stats are total bs. As for "better guard," you might be correct. Richard is not a guard. Aberdeen might be better than Richard by tourney time, but they play different positions. All your years as coach/player and the hours you spent driving to today's game might have informed you of that simple fact.

Richards has to stop shooting when he keeps missing but you can't lose that game. FT is even more surprising cause guys are shooting well below their career average. This is clearly a bubble team which is sad because I really thought this team was better than that.

I’m not being a smart-*ss, but if it was that easy to fix, every team would fix it.

Respectfully disagree on us having the advantage inside today. Samuel was a non-factor against Kentucky’s more athletic bigs and Handlogten and Condon aren’t quite advanced enough offensively right now to make a major impact on that end of the floor against better competition. However, they basically played to a draw with UK’s Bradshaw and Onyenso but the issue again was UK’s Mitchell completely outplaying Samuel.

The game plan actually was successful. It was free throws and untimely errors that cost us the game.

What did you see wrong with game plan.
If we hit free-throws and go just 3-11 in second half from 3 we win.
I respect your knowledge about hoops I thought game plan was good. Thanks

Lose by 2 to the 6th rank team and we are a bubble team.

I’m so damn tired of Gator sports just taking the life out of me . Happens in football and of course it’s started in basketball. For a second there today I thought , damn are we gonna do this? I knew though in the back of my mind it’s too good to be true.
I know it’s going to be another crappy season.
All these schools are slowly moving past UF in both sports.
Going on a cruise starting tomorrow for 8 days and I don’t give a rats azz any more. I don’t wanna know or care to know how UF is doing this week.
I saw this coming when this big academic push started and knew then we are going to turn in to one of those tennis/golf / swimming /track schools
I don’t give a crap about being a top academic school! I want my Florida back. I want to see kids in the stands that look like Florida kids and cheer like Florida kids !
Started about 6 years ago. These schools we used to dominate have overtaken us and I just can’t stand it
Sorry for the rant .. I’ll be off for a while but I hope all of you can maybe get a W.

We took thirty-one 3’s and had less than 10 true post shots.
I think we made ourselves easier to defend and never put any front court pressure on Kentucky,

When you compare the two front courts, I don’t think we should be vying for a draw. I could be biased, but I think we have better size, skill, physicality and depth.
I expected us to have an advantage in the paint. And I thought we’d try to exploit… or at least put some pressure on them defensively,
Thirty-one 3’s was way more perimeter reliant than I anticipated.

Perhaps further showing my bias- I fully expected we would win this game. But, had I somehow known prior we’d launch thirty-one shots from the arc… I might have changed that prognostication.

Golden was simply outcoached in the second half. He should have been demanding the guards pass the rock to the frontcourt.

Richard was cold and kept jacking them up.

    Another season of wasted talent.

Great rebounding has made up for our poor 3 point shooting and free throw shooting in most of our prior games. Kentucky neutralized that advantage by matching our rebounding numbers and this exposed those glaring shooting weaknesses.

yeah, right now ZP is this team's best and most indispensable player - no one else can handle or playmake at his level or has his instincts for playing smart basketball in the halfcourt. We really need him to stay healthy the rest of the way or we're gonna be in trouble, neither Aberdeen and Clayton understand how to run offense or take care of the ball anywhere close to as well as Zyon does.

I agree that Clayton has some of that alpha energy like you said, but he looks for his own shot way too much at the expense of getting other players involved and makes too many dumb decisions with the ball. His chucking yesterday was a major reason why we didn't get it inside to the bigs nearly enough offensively.

If you are going to single out two players, Kugel needs to be in there. We count on him to play smart and the opposite happened.

let's not overreact to one game - Will had a bad day yesterday but has been one of our few decent shooters this year.

Denzel gives us good effort but cant shoot and doesn't really do anything at a high enough level right now to justify putting him on the court a lot more at Richard's expense.

Haugh is a warrior. Golden trusted him on the offensive/defensive switches. A year in the weightroom will really help
