Florida wins first FDA approval to import drugs from Canada

This is great news for anyone that needs medications at a cheaper rate.

 

Please note that Canada does not seem to be on board, saying they don't have the extra supply. The program is open to state owned facilities like prisons, and possibly later to Medicaid participants, not the public nor Medicare participants. It could save the state some money if Canada gets onboard.

 

My mom used to get some scrips from Canada via mail and she was an RN. She passed away in 2004. My point is this was pretty common back then.

 

It’s only available for people in state run programs like Medicaid, not for everyone.

I wish it was for all. At least it’s a start. How successful is tbd by Canadian participation.

 

Canada drug suppliers would really need to scale up - Canada has only 38million people while Florida has 21 million and a considerably older mean age.

 

I trust Canadian oversight more than I do US. Too much corruption borne of deregulatory fever in the US based on 50 years of funded propaganda and class warfare, as shown here
