TTU's Isaacs accused of sexually assaulting minor what a terrible program. Booster buys players drinks, they have 2 girls in their room age 16 and 17. Alleged assault accusations that the coach knows about, and the player hasn’t missed a game. Win at all costs I guess.
So . . . guilty until proven innocent? Age, btw, is irrelevant from a legal perspective in this case. If the TT player is guilty, throw the book at him.
I am not going to say what is right and wrong here, but Isaac is 20 years old, the girl was 17 years old, the age of consent in the Bahamas is 16, and the two of them likely were both intoxicated.
According to the school, the athletics department reached out twice to the Title IX office -- which operates independently -- and was told each time that based on the information it has, Isaacs "remains in good standing, and there is no reason to withhold him from University activities, including basketball competition."
Innocent until proven guilty, no doubt. But 2 players, a booster, and the coach all have knowledge of the situation and play on. I hope this is not acceptable with Golden and our program. I suspect it’s not.
I think it would be out of his hands. You have seen how our athletic department has dealt with sexual assault allegations in the past. Immediate suspension, and not reinstated until you’re cleared. If there’s enough evidence, immediate expulsions even before any type of hearing.
