Thanks for posting royalewitch. Unmanmielen seems like a well spoken young man. He makes some great points. Sorry to be losing him, and glad we have a new S&C coach.

Man that S&C portion wasn’t very flattering. Hope the new guy is better.

True, but seems like Napier has addressed the situation with S&C. No way Craig Fitzgerald with all his SEC and NFL experience isn't going to beef up our dudes right! Just glad Napier did something now, before it was too late. Also interesting to me how they'll keep Hocke around. He was always super involved on the sidelines during games I noticed. Wonder if he really is interested in eventually coaching on-the-field and what his role will be with UF for the foreseeable future. If it saved money on some buyout, great! Assuming he's fine with the re-assignment and can still deliver good value to the program.

These are exactly the same comments UGA had about him when he was there. Glad we upgraded

To be fair that was his hire for S&C for two seasons. Great we got someone new but also let’s not forget he is replacing someone he hired in the first place.

This explains why our guys were so manhandled throughout the season. Seems this could have been caught after the first year but at least it's addressed.

We will never know but i wonder if CBN was getting feedback from the players re S&C which may have confirmed his decision.

Because everybody gets everything right the first time they do it right? Come on, that’s a terrible take. Tell me 1 coach that has gone his entire career with the first person they hired to do the job.

The fact it got that bad means quality control was lacking.
Our conditioning was excellent with Savage, but I always thought the power aspect was a bit lacking. Ymmv.
After the Mac S&C debacle you would think, oh never mind

I didn’t say that and I’m sorry that’s what you took away. I simply said you can’t just praise someone because they are cleaning up their own messes. Not to mention he was at Louisiana with Billy from 2018-2021 so it’s not like he was unknown.

True, but you can applaud him for realizing that his initial thoughts aren’t working for the current environment and moved on. The last guy didn’t, and cost us a potential championship. So it’s a breath of fresh air regardless of if the guy he originally brought in didn’t work out.

I do applaud him but he’s worked with him for 6 years, maybe that’s how long the process takes.

Or maybe he was the best available at that time. When he was hired, CBN was filling out 60 staff positions, recruiting a class from scratch, recommending changes to the new football facilities, and moving his family to a new location. S&C was ok, but not great. He is resolving the issues as they fit into the priorities list. Defensive coaching has been a bigger issue and you can’t fire everyone and think anyone will come that is worth their salt. It is a process of finding and fixing the most glaring issues. When he got here S&C wasn’t anywhere near the top of the list and maybe Savage had no interest in working for the new guy. Just appreciate that our coach is humble enough to admit to mistakes and try to correct them. It could be third and Grantham in year six right now…

Have to disagree on this. Napier had extensive coaching experience in the SEC and other programs and it boggles my mind how he could have made that bad a hire in one of the most important positions for a team. Ali Peek’s podcast was dead on——

I am sure Princely wasn't the only one to notice the S&C and certainly we could see the bullying. Billy fixed it, kudos to him.

Could be or maybe it was just the easiest thing for him to lift and shift staff from Louisiana to UF. I do appreciate that he is willing to make changes to the staff but let’s not forget he’s getting 7 million to run this business. Firing underperforming employees is part of the gig in every job.
