Speaking of cleaning house, I haven't seen Mullen lately commentating on ESPN. I hope he didn't get canned. He needs the money.
He he has been in the ESPN broadcast booth for Thursday night games, including the egg bowl, and at least one bowl game I watched.
Kelly is right to clean house, that defense was abysmal all season and far worse than Florida's defense. If it weren't for Jayden, LSU could have easily been 6-5 or worse. But what do I know...
My comment was just on the phrase. I think we are all above “im rubber and you’re glue” but have at it.
Not as long as we are still paying him. I doubt that he got canned as the word is that they really like him. It is almost a perfect gig for him. He gets to speak on his considerable expertise but does not have to recruit anyone.
LSUs D definitely sucked which seriously contributed to the heartburn of us not being able to take advantage offensively when we played them, but they were not "far" worse. In fact there was only one metric where LSU was far worse and that was number of offensive plays run by the opponent (881 for LSU, 712 for UF) which might have a lot to do with LSU's quick score capability vs. UF's run the clock philosophy. LSU stats that were worse than UF's were primarily driven by that stat alone. If you look at the data per play: LSU pts given up per play .41 vs .46 for UF LSU yds per pass attempt 7.9 vs. 8.34 for UF LSU yds per rush attempt 4.5 vs. 4.8 for UF Unfortunately for us, there was only one school in the SEC that was far worse than us in 2023 and that was Vandy.
Yeah, it feels different now. When transfers were limited, this would have felt really scummy, now, it's a business decision. As absurd as it sounds, Napier may be too nice for his own good.
Lol, take it easy... I like 95% of what you post, or more. I just think the Napier dislike has been overdone. He's the head ball coach now and we have to try and just get behind him.
My comment was nothing more than a silly comment on I don’t even know who’s choice or words and not hint more. I don’t even know what this thread is about. For real. And my response to you Rick was just to show how you can then take something like that and actually make it funny. I’ll try and boost my 95%, although it does match my avatar pretty nicely.
I do hope he has found something else to do. I am running out of money myself, buying new TVs every Saturday.
Went out and hired Mizzou's DC. I think they threw 2.5M at him. That's a lot of cheese to throw at that dude. Mizzou had a nice season and all but is their former DC really worth that much?
Im going to go out on a limb here and suggest that turning in a 5 win season with a bunch of miserable losses at seasons end (several demonstrating bad coaching) and losing to every damn one of your rivals (minus UT) for not one year but both years may have something to do with the whining. I think if we win the NC next year the whining would stop (well mostly....we do have a few who just are special).
LSU hires Blake Baker: New Tigers defensive coordinator helped lead Missouri to an 11-2 finish in 2023 “LSU is expected to make Baker the highest-paid assistant in the country, with an annual salary exceeding $2.2 million.” Wow, LSU is putting big $$$$ into their coaching staff, not off the field admin types.
I realize that the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side, especially when it involves sports fans. All this caterwauling about Kelly and his "convictions" is really silly. He has done nothing yet except spend a LOT of LSU's money. As I say, college football (and major college football especially) IS the Blob who can and WILL eat a university if allowed. Until further notice, Kelly is the head Blob feeder.
There is silly money and then there is Texas silly money. No one gets to go there. Try? sure, but you end up dead or poor before you get there.
