Yes, and he’s only 2 years into building relationships at the local (state of Florida) high school level. To jerk the rug out from under him before 2025 would be the height of stupidity. Billy is doing everything right to build a sustainable program. He’s putting the long-term ahead of instant gratification and that must be because he knows the administration will give him at least 4 full years. It took 11+ years to dig this hole we’re trying to climb back out of. Quick fixes won’t work. Anybody calling for Napier’s head before 2025 is advocating self-destruction — again

You could post this on almost every thread here and it would be applicable. It is readily apparent there is a plan being implemented and we have to give him the time and support to get it done.

I agree with MOST of this. And the odd-season moves have really separated him from Muschamp and Mullen, to me… because he’s been willing to say “I got it wrong” and need to hire different people. But it HAS to get better on gameday- (flow of offense, game mgmt, aggressive calls, sections of the field can’t go missing etc)
And if he is saying “I got it wrong here, with these coaches… with this S&C guy”… then he has to be willing to do that with gameday coaching. And to say “well Billy is doing everything right to build us back” is not accurate. He has to grow. He has not done a great job with hiring and gameday mgmt… but I think he’s getting there

 

Faults, tendencies, etc are often established as part on one’s personality. It is a good thing middle aged men are known to flexible.. Great coaches break the molds
