exactly…he was running for his life almost immediately after the ball was snapped on about 75% of his snaps on a brighter note, our young LBs looked like total studs.
In my humble opinion, LB play is where our D needed the most help coming down the back half of the season.
Both statements are true… his stats weren’t that good but his offensive line was abysmal at best, the East wide receivers also didn’t help. It’s impossible to draw much of a conclusion about any of the 3 QB’s that played for the East Team. If you lean negative you’ll stay negative based on stats, if you tend to be positive you’ll continue to be positive based on the porous line and the positive plays he made with little or no help.
I watched the first quarter, and half of the second and was also underwhelmed. Not at DJ's performance but at the OL and coaching performance, which i feel was the cause of his poor numbers.
OL's operate as a unit. Its always tough to get 5 guys to be in sync after a week of practice and then play a game. The D in these all-star type games almost always outshines the offenses.
Oline also needs more development at the college level than other positions, so probably unfair to assess those positions relative to one another.
He should be fine. Made it to campus yesterday and was hanging at the football facility. His dad mentioned that he doesn’t have a roommate so take that FWIW.
