Gumbs is coming off a productive season in which he recorded 32 total tackles, including 6.5 for a loss, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. H

 

Not sure what means for Howell but I’ll take it. Huge upside like Candy said

That would be ideal because I think Tarquin would give us the added depth. We need at tackle and maybe even allow barber to move to guard where he would be unbelievable or I believe has a much higher upside. I also think the kid from Arkansas could be our sixth or seventh guy in a heartbeat, since he started at Arkansas to end the year.

Their line wasn’t unbelievable but you can’t teach his size especially the 6”9

 

From doing a little extra reading. I still think we have a good shot of getting Howell. Kudos to our coaching. Staff were trying to really beef up our defensive line and make it competitive at every spot. If we pick up Howell I would say we go into next year with a much better D. Line. I say that not just because Cam, Caleb, Sapp, Lyons Desmond, Kelby, TJ, Boone, Jack and Kamran are a year older but because in adding Slackman, at least a very good depth piece in the kid today, Gumbs, and Howell I would say we come out ahead of where we were.

here’s the reasoning, as I’ve said many times, before I think Collins and Searcy more than make up for Princely’s loss, Boone will give us the ability to have what we didn’t have last year with a consistent rush from the other end. Taking into account that McClellan was being passed by Lyons, and then you think of all the other guys being a year older, a year, much wiser, hopefully quite a bit stronger with a new strength and conditioning, coach, and one of the best defensive line coaches in the country in Chatman. Then throw in Slackman, who, from day one I think will be a consistent force in the middle of the line, Gumbs, who will provide quality depth, and Howell who gives us another pure pass rusher with a first step to two steps that is as good as just about anybody in the country. Keep in mind I’ve not even talked about quality guys like Sapp and if possible big-time player in LJ McCray.

The depth that I see being built on the line is actually pretty impressive again that’s saying we add Howell. And, we all know that next year we will unfortunately have to go back to the portal again, even if we grab three or four high school defensive tackles.

Now that the linebacker looks to be moving in a different and better direction after we added Howard, we could completely see each unit make the other unit better on the defense fingers crossed!!

 

Yeah, I’ve listened that a couple of times and I really like what I hear. Satterfield knows his stuff and thought he had a major steel here but in swoops Billy!!!
