Yep, the Left invents this crisis to begin with and yet the Left will try and blame the right for it becasue they are sending these needy people to their sanctuary cities? Why is there a bad guy?
Biden administration asks Supreme Court to let Border Patrol remove razor wire on US-Mexico border | CNN Politics
There is a solution to the nursing shortage mentioned in the article. The problem is that a certain segment of the Republican Party has been blocking comprehensive immigration reform for decades. Although the article focuses on North Dakota the nursing shortage experienced by the California hospitals is at least in part attributable to the same problem that ND is experiencing and can be solved through the same solution. A broken immigration system keeps workers out of jobs the U.S. needs to fill North Dakota’s hospitals are desperate for nurses, but backlogs and other problems in immigration agencies block the way.
Several Chicago suburbs vote to limit unscheduled migrant bus drop-offs from Texas do as we say, not as we do with immigrants, just not in our " sanctuary " city
You can argue each one of these and how they effected the border, but the general consensus is Trump was trying to slow immigration, while Biden is trying to expedite it. So, the message being received is "come on in" vs "we are trying to slow migration". Ends travel ban Reinstated DACA Halted the wall construction Stopped stepped up enforcement from ICE Remain in Mexico
Trump has his racist rhetoric on undocumented immigration. But in reality, he accomplished nothing but spend billions on a few hundred miles of wall that is breached, on average, 11 times a day! The travel ban and Remain in Mexico (Title 42) were pandemic only policies. They could only be legally retain had the government declared the pandemic ongoing. So either Biden declares the pandemic over and ends these policies, or, we're still under pandemic conditions. The Remain in Mexico policy was also a human rights atrocity. I know many on the right don't consider immigrants to be humans worthy of rights, but personally, I do. Yes, Biden halted wall construction. For good reason. The wall is the definition of a boondoggle. It's worthless and flushes billions of dollars down the drain. Biden did try and continue DACA, but it was shot down by a judge. Unfortunate too, because DACA has been a very successful program. As CATO found, DACA doesn't hurt citizens, but increases tax payrolls by billions. As for Biden stopping ICE enforcement, any examples? Because Biden is currently asking for $13 billion to increase ICE personnel, and guess who is block it? The Rs.
Once again, the biggest factor in migration is how tight the labor market is. That is why, despite the faulty memory, there was a surge in migration in 2019 as well. Migrants aren't regular consumers of English-language news sources. If we had a system that was built off of labor markets rather than some sort of command-and-control government decision as to how many immigrants should be allowed in (and allowed to work), a lot of the problems could be solved.
Terrorists aren't crossing into the US through Mexico illegally. Between 1975 and 2022, 3 convicted terrorists have crossed from Mexico. And their ages at the time of crossing? 5, 3, and 1 respectively. The risks of getting caught or not surviving the trip are too high for organized terrorists to attempting crossing in from Mexico. And while there are criminals entering, in general, undocumented immigrants commit less crime than citizens. Simply put, if you are undocumented, commit a crime, and get caught, and you risk being deported. Why risk walking hundreds, if not thousands of miles to find a better life in the US just to commit a crime and lose it all? If if you want to be a criminal, and are coming from a country like Honduras, why not stay in Honduras, where crime is rampant, policing is minimal as compared to the US, and corruption is common?
169 Pinocchio's to you. In FY2023, 169 individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were stopped trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border between ports of entry. 18 were apprehended in September alone. So far in FY2023, CBP has arrested 35,433 aliens with criminal convictions or outstanding warrants nationwide, including 598 known gang members, 178 of those being MS-13 members. In FY2023, CBP, including Air and Marine Operations, has seized 27,293 pounds of fentanyl, coming across the Southwest border—enough to kill more than 6 billion people. No no no Those illegal immigrants are not 1. Illegal 2. Staying in Cali. They are leaving to other states Haven’t you read this thread..
Out of all the got aways.. how many where criminals? I’m sure none. I’m sure all those fleeing BP where just wonderful individuals hoping to claim sanctuary/ refugee status somewhere else I. The state of Texas.. that’s why they ran. And I’m sure none where gang members, terrorists, rapists, etc..
. 11 breeches are a far cry from what's coming now!! I don't know why anyone that wants to try and assist Americans before we let the rest of the world in OUR country to make their life better doesn't care about human rights. We can send aid to the Mexican side of the border, not the massive costs we are seeing in NYC and Chicago. I am 100% sure you care a hell of a lot more about your family then you do mine. It's a boondoggle when you leave massive holes in it, cut holes in for migrating animals, and roads through it that are not monitored. He just asked for $13 billion, 3 years later!
The terrorist watch list has over 2 million names on it. The people caught coming in from Mexico aren't terrorist. They have unfortunate names. I also never said no criminals cross the border. Most of the ones with a felony arrest records have ties to the cartels. These are people who we don't want in the US. One way to make it easier to catch them? Allow those just seeking asylum and/or a work permit to enter legally at processing centers where we can do background checks before letting them enter. Would cut out a lot of "clutter" in the open desert where the cartels tend to operate.
You should probably let NBC, CBS, The New York Times and a host of other media outlets know they have got the story all wrong. Those aren’t actual terrorist coming in just a bunch of Hispanics with middle eastern names.. ( it’s a joke.. don’t get all riled up). But seriously, you really want to claim it’s just unfortunate names? Come on man.. As for your idea to lessen the clutter. I think it’s great. No way will the processing centers get flooded, people get quick stamped and told to report back later ( only to disappear j to the wind) and the cartels will never figure it out. Brilliant!
