And by house, he means Matt House. Interesting how successful coaches take action. Kelly, LSU moving on from 4 assistant coaches
In his case, he shouldn't have hired such a large unaccomplished staff and elevated certain coaches to high positions to begin with (Toney).
His linebacker coach is now DC at aTm along with our former D line coach as a position coach. Corey Raymond was viewed as a huge win until rumors seemed to be verified by the on field performance and his body language that he was not viewed as a loss by LSU. I'm not pleased with Toney from the get go but I'm also not claiming to be an expert evaluator. The guy is in the NFL as a position coach now so he must be showing something. So now he is making changes. New defensive line coach is a coach of the year winner and yet here we are bashing Napier for doing the same thing Kelly is recieving praise for. Riddle me this, why did Kelly make so many bad hires to begin with? Why isn't he at fault for needing to "clean house" year 3?
I suppose the message is "at least he did something about it". They (LSU) wasted a tremendous offense with a crappy defense this season. Look no further than our Gators with Trask. Wasted that offense with Grantham. Except dumb ass Dan didn't do anything about it after let alone prior when all the signs were there.
In someone going to think they are witty for saying this. You know who was witty when they said this, the first guy. lol
Yes. One of the most frustrating aspects of Mullen's tenure. Glass half full or glass half empty, either way is fine when saying at least Napier is making changes.
Also, Kelly cleared the staff the day after the portal closed. People don't have any comment about that?? I'm guessing he figured even if the players jump ship in the spring portal this traps them in to at least meet the incoming staff? Shrewd if so...
Yet we dump our guys during crucial recruiting time and may have cost us players.. That scenario kinda bothers me . Seems like every thing we do is a day late and a dollar short!
So... those words should never again be spoken? That phraseology was perfect and made a very good point. And the poster that those words were in responsive to uttered useless words that we already heard a 1,000 times this year. As a matter of fact CBN has changed some of his coaches after each of his two seasons here. So that whine statement had true meaning, was apropos, and was said at the right time in response to the statement of "whine." People need to stop whining about our head football coach.
Mixed feelings about that one. Well played but dishonest. Then again, players leave with such ease that it may be the right move for both parties when it's all said and done.
You’re right . Because truthfully these 17-19 years old kids have completely taken over in many ways. You chew a guys ass at practice the next day the player is in the Head coach’s office . The assistant then gets chewed by the HC . Look for college coaches moving to the NFL rapidly! I’m can feel myself just about done .
