That and the fact that we didn't swarm to the ball. If one guy missed wrapping up, it was off to the races.

I think something might actually start to change after the attention paid to the Clown School putting on a clown show against Georgia.

What’s interesting about all that talk is Georgia was missing just as many players as swac, but everyone feels so bad for the criminoles.

I don’t really even know what they could change at this point to make it better. NIL isn’t going away, and transfers are likely to become completely unregulated when the NCAA loses this next court battle.

I think the criminoles are getting more attention because they've whined louder than Georgia. The crazy thing is that they would have played the same matchup against Georgia in the playoffs if Georgia would have beat Alabama. So, why not prove you belong instead of opting out left and right and giving no effort in the bowl game? Fsu is a collection of idiots.

As far as the changes that can be made, they're starting with increasing the playoff brackets to 12 teams. That will theoretically keep 12 teams engaged with far less opt-out quitting. If that proves to be the case, why not just go to 64 teams and reduce the regular season schedule a little? But, you're right that the NIL cat is out of the bag and isn't going back. There is no reason that transfers couldn't be regulated better, though. It needs to happen if they want to keep loyal fanbase butts in the seats.

The main reason I think the transfers won’t be regulated better is because the NCAA is probably about to lose another lawsuit on that front.

This new generation would rather stand on the side and bitch about things than get to work and put in effort to earn it.

Lou Holtz, Football coach was asked what is the difference in football players today and 50 years ago. He answered "Simple, Today's athletes talk about rights and privileges. And the players 50 years ago talked about obligations and responsibilities!" To me that describes society today.

I try to keep it simple. There are one of two scenarios that MUST be addressed. The first is that the O-line guys were too young last year. The second was that the O-line coaching was lacking to get much out of them (actually any of them regardless of experience). I guess we can go there and say that a major reason was because of the lack of quality S&C.

Anyways, if we are "done" recruiting O-linemen then we need an instant re-boot of the O-line coaching. And if the coaching is fine but the guys were not, then there is NO WAY they are going to grow that fast between the end of last year - and what we needed - and what Napier needs to get his "show-me" season up to snuff. And sorry, he does not get a mulligan on S&C if his chosen guy crapped out the past two seasons. You change last year and not this.

I can see where the defense gets to better than awful. And I can see where a potentially transcendent freshman QB makes the offense look better than a merely pocket passer. I did not see drops galore by the WR corp (not talking about Wilson and Pearsall) and so no throws to them. I plainly saw a QB who was comfortable throwing to a few players and did not have the time to throw it long. Speed isn't going to help that, O-line play (and via an effective run game) will.

Again.......it is all about the play of the O-line and I do not see where Napier is addressing it properly. But we shall see.

I agree with what you’re saying, but for the most part, our O Line was experienced. I know Slaughter was new but Leonard, Barber, Mazzcua, had started a bunch of games. George could be counted as newer but he was playing out of position if you throw in Kingsley, which is hard to do because he was injured a lot, it was actually a pretty experienced line. And then when you consider Slaughter, it was actually pretty good Overall or at least got a lot better it’s pretty concerning on the coaching front

So they had one experienced tackle who dealt with some injuries, and that's "concerning on the coaching front?" Obviously they put out a subpar product but talent infusion is needed to fix it whether that be via development of prior recruits, or portal adds, or a freshman being an early stud.

Maybe they just stick out more but it seems like the troll job commits flame out often. Donnel Harris, adeleye, McClain, Harris, avante, Smalls, etc etc. Several more.

Reading an article about Amaris Williams, sounds like he's next. Talks about how florida wasn't a consideration for months despite being "committed." Actually talks about how auburn wasn't really in it and then....

Not really . Coming into this season Leonard had started one game the season before, Barber had 5 career starts....Mazz the veteran with 10 career starts. Given that Kingsley played little, and when he did was awful due to injury, Slaughter zero experience and George was pretty raw ....this was a very inexperienced line.

Transfer Brandon Crenshaw Dickson had twice as many starts by himself than Slaughter/Mazz/Barber/George/Leonard did combined coming into the season. Against Utah UF took the field with 19 starts from the 5 OL. If we roll out Barber/Leonard/ Slaughter/George/Dickson vs Miami in 24 there will be 85 combined starts. And still a decent chance we add a player that would increase that number even more. That would be a relatively experienced line, nothing crazy but light years beyond what we fielded this past season.

Coaching involves recruiting and retaining not just developing. You answered it in your post when you said talent infusion needed. That’s on coaches and as I mentioned part of coaching. Year 1 ok, but not year 2 and beyond. I am concerned with OL Coaching, developing, retaining, etc…
Most are right now, especially with 2 OL coaches.

Looks like he only played in a few games as a freshman but I'll take all the talented LBs I can get

Yes he did. Perhaps he should consider selling used cars as a post football career.
