I wasn’t expecting him to have as good of handles as he does. I was thinking he’d be more like a traditional big that rebounds, plays the post, sets screens, etc… more like a Colin Castleton kind of player. Samuel has shown to be very fluid with the rock in his hands.
I used to play a lot of pickup games during lunch break. We had one guy who was just 5'-11", a bit on the thin side, couldn't really shoot. I ALWAYS wanted him on my team because we would usually win if he was. He seemed to get every rebound there was. Also played ferocious defense, played hard nonstop, and was very unselfish with the ball. He really understood the game and could pick out a shooter's weaknesses and shut him down. He played high school ball in Louisiana. If he'd been just a little bigger or had a shot, he'd have been a D1 player.
story of my life since i hit about 40. short, fast guys with no business getting rebounds out-hustling me. this is why old, slow guys start throwing elbows lol
I like Richard, but Pullin is playing at a 1st-team All-SEC level right now. Obviously, we haven’t played any SEC games yet, but I can’t name a past Gator point guard who has played better than Pullin is playing right now. He looks to me like a legit NBA prospect.
Yeah he is playing well. Best PG in awhile. We have 3-4 possible NBA players said that before season started. Samuel Pullen Richard Condon Clayton At least 3 of these will play in NBA or iam I crazy
He has probably a better shot than most of the others on that list. A 7'-1" guy with skills and a good rebounding instinct? Yep. Somebody will sign him, but probably not before he graduates.
Tyrese breaks a record held since Tim Duncan did it in 1997: "Samuel is the first college player since Tim Duncan to record at least 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks in a road win over a top-10 team."
Well I hope he is ready to bang today because like AKA predicts, gonna probably be a rock fight. Big Sam, IMO is UFs most physical player in the blocks, gonna need him to pound it out today on the road at tamu.
Yes arbitrary but still quite impressive nonetheless. We need another monster game from him again today
Denzel is pretty good but as for distributing and scoring Pullen is the bomb or goat if you will. Unbelievable free throw consistency, anywhere from 5-10 assists a game, driving to the hole and finishing with either a score, layup or floater, and if trapped an assist is coming for someone, be ready. They said he couldn’t shoot the three very good but I feel comfortable with him taking it. Both Denzel and Tyrese, don’t hold your breath on them hitting two in a row. As for Denzel running the point he is getting a better feel for what his teammates and himself, can do. He still has the yips, which means he has to stay calm and steady on offense, too many times he is forcing it, a drive or shot. We all want him to succeed and he gets to watch one of the best point guards in the nation. Keeping his emotions in control whenever he is in means act like you have been there, stay calm and humble is what Zion has in abundance. His teammates now have learned to keep the ball in his hands whenever they. If Denzel can do this his game will get even better and help us make us a better team. Losing Pullen would be like Texas A&M losing Taylor, two of the best in the nation.
