Down year for SEC standards. Also, I think it is pretty clear it will be a Power 2 and then some good teams sprinkled in other leagues moving forward.

Next year the SEC2 won't eliminate the SEC1 team. It's pretty clear UGA was better than Alabama except on 12/2/23. Although I'm not disappointed they didn't get title #3.

I think the goal is NFC jr vs AFC jr in the Superbowl jr though. Pretty dumb but hey short term money right?

After the bowls, it's clear that UGA will be the #1 team to start the new season.

I suspect that Mich and Wash could handle Georgia.

Why ? Michigan pushed around the team that handled Georgia.

Extra: Washington handled the team that handled Bama.

I’m okay with college football taking a break from the SEC.

Regarding this year... the CFP Top 25 final rankings has 6 SEC teams who went 5-1:

20-27 Alabama (OT loss against higher seed)
    63-3 Georgia (against higher seed)
    14-3 Missouri (against higher seed)
38-25 Ole Miss (against higher seed)
    35-31 LSU
    35-0 Tennessee (against higher seed)

I thought Georgia had a better argument for being left out of the final four than fsu did. I am okay with how this year’s bowls turned out.

There is no transitive property in football. Teams match up differently, are different week to week, and there is always a little luck sprinkled in.

With all of the opt outs in bowls that aren't for the top 4 it has become much more difficult to compare teams and conferences based on the results of 1 game! It has been discussed elsewhere and I agree many of these lesser bowls have lost what lustre they had left and I expect attendance to reflect that moving forward!

10 of 11 starters on offense are gone.
As goo as their defense is, They will lose a few of those SRs the the draft.

If returnees are a prime ranking metric, barring equally massive losses, wouldn’t Michigan, Washington or Alabama get dibs over Georgia ?

If I were a conspiracy theory kind of guy I’d be tempted to think that the bowl folks set the SEC teams up to get beat by matching them with higher seeded teams or something.

    Bama
Bama is losing most of their secondary and their best overall defensive player. Their QB is coming back if that means anything.

Washington is losing their QB, RB, TE and probably their WRs. 5 of their D Starters are RS SRs.

Georgia is stacked with guys coming back.

I try to keep things simple. Just look at what transpired, who is coming back, and then make an educated guess. And so, it is easy to see that...

UCF will win another National Championship. Dammit!

Ole Miss loaded for a run ! Might have the second best or third best roster in the SEC
They will be a top 10 at least to start the season

It is what it is. Washington and Michigan look better this year. Parity is good for college football.

If Georgia had a healthy Brock, they would kill Michigan with so many weapons on the field. I'd spot Georgia 4 TDs with a healthy Bowers. Based on what I saw against Bama and FSU, I'd give Georgia an 8 point win.
