Was constantly out of position which led to him taking bad angles to make tackles. Very inconsistent...
the portal becomes more important. Can't expect freshmen to handle the SEC. Of course, that freshmen linebacker on Ga. team let night looked great. So maybe. I know 5 stars doesn't matter.
There were a couple who sat next to me that got irate anytime he was out there. Would point out how he was always out of position and undisciplined and how much he made our run defense suffer. Not sure what we could do by the end when he was the only healthy linebacker though. Think they may have been over exaggerating but made some valid points. The question is will the freshmen be ready and will we get portal players who are better. I guess time will tell.
But we need depth. Also to my earlier post, is it development or talent evaluation on why the defense is so bad?
And? He was a starter for a reason. Is that reason because the current staff evaluated him as the best? They didn't get anyone in the portal to replace him last year? Hopefully the freshman are great right off the bat but that's unlikely. And if any of them go down due to injuries... No depth again
So answer your own question. Was it evaluation? Mullen staff? Or was it development? Napier staff Not going to get worked up over players leaving from a crappy defense.
Anyone who is brought in now, is automatically better than anyone who left, at least that’s what I read on here..
