I would venture to say that fans from every team that loses a bowl game will claim that their players who didn’t play in the game are the reason they lost. Of course, they forget that players on the teams that won didn’t play, either.
I got to know him fairly well. That was probably the happiest I’ve ever seen him. Carol was very nice as well when they were here. He was proud of his son. Let him enjoy the moment. Whatever lack of success he had with the Gators was not for lack of effort. He was balls to the wall 24/7. Hired two supposed offensive geniuses like a defensive coach should. Cheeseburger Charlie and Brent Pease were no where near as good as advertised. They were advertised as filet mignon and turned out to be cheap store brand hotdogs.
To me, the best part of this game was not having to listen to the war chant yell. Heard it after F$U’s long pass in the first quarter. Peaceful silence thereafter.
He can enjoy the moment, just like we are. I doubt he is reading GC at this point. I think you may have hit on his issue; he’s awfully wound up, like a Tom Coughlin who just drank a pot of coffee. I have nothing against WM personally but the way he yelled at referees was juvenile in my opinion.
Georgia is paying him to run the football . You guys screaming about him being a poor pass blocker is a joke . Pass blocking can be schemed different ways . The dude is an incredible back . Anything different from that is bs !
Don't you understand that players who leave Florida have to be demeaned to make us all feel superior?! No matter that one starter has gone to Georgia, another to Ole Miss, another to Missouri. They were deficient, so we really didn't need them, but teams better than us did! Totally logical.
Even so, showing up to play is half of the win. I find it interesting that players opting out is a valid excuse, while players transferring out is something that a team needs to answer for. (This is a point I can freely make in a thread where the two teams involved are patterned off of Bill Cosby and Satan. To Hell with Georgia, and please restrict clowns from roofie ownership...)
I agree that he's a good back and I enjoyed watching him here but going to UGA is going to leave a bad taste in people's mouths and it should. That's part of what College Football is all about, although it's being eroded on the field by the clear business aspect that's invaded it with the portal/unlimited transfers and NIL (I actually think the portal/transfer issue is the worse of the two, and it's not even close to me). Having said that, pass blocking is important for a back in the modern game especially at the pro level. If you can't adequately pick up blitzes as a back it'll limit your opportunities because teams aren't going to risk their QB's health like that, no matter how good you run the ball. If the only time you're in is to run the ball then the other teams DC will notice that and call plays accordingly so now you're basically a short yardage/goaline guy by default. In college you might get a way with it, particularly on a stacked team like UGA but when the competition is a lot more even it's a different story.
This, this, this, this, this!!! This was literally a Kirby class vs a Norvell class straight up and proved w/o the portal Norvell is a fraud. He even inherited Travis and got beyond LUCKY he was never going to get drafted so he stayed for a 6th year. I wouldn't be shocked at all if fsu was back to sub .500 next season. *edit* @ocalaman I'd love to hear what you disagree with
