Some werent upgrades but saved our bacon. Torrence, Johnson, Mazzcua, Hudson, Goodwin(would have but for his mother), Nunnery. Also, some not listed were helpful on special teams.

Don't see 5 starters. Even the RB did not start.

Mertz was fantastic. The Portal players Napier got the prior year were great. The rest of last year's group save a few Cam Jackson bright spots have been pretty ho-hum.

At least one of those names doesn't fit on that list yet, and an argument could be made for two. The first 3 are money.

No, if we were UGa, we would just be replacing them by buying a new set of 5 stars like they do every year.

It’s not necessarily getting outbid, for the same or close money do you choose a struggling program or one that is clicking with momentum and emotion?

Jackson unquestionably "helped"...which was the statement he made. He was our best DT. Would argue Banks did as well.

Certainly considering our best DT from the prior year went to the league, Jackson did help. He made some noticeable plays and ate that Tennessee Center's lunch. There were some games, however, where he seemed conspicuously absent (KY springs to mind). Banks is just a body at this point, but I guess he's better than the ones that were already here since he started and he is just a Soph so he could still develop. I'm a little concerned about our HS DT recruiting...it hasn't been great.

OK, Fair point, but do you see five starters there? 2 at most and is Georgia able to replace them through the portal and recruit at the highest of high levels?

we are in a very different situation than Georgia, and to be fair you cannot compare us to them. Kirby has shown that he will get whatever he wants from the portal and he will actually recruit at a very high level.

I’m on the bus, but again not a equal or comparison as Kirby Will replace any of those guys that play any minutes with better players

OK, well that hasn’t happened the last two years and I’m sure hoping it happens this year. If you check my post, you’ll see that I’m on record with saying that we have a great start, but, we cannot lay back. We have to grab four or fry more excellent portal additions

Not sure about the top 10 but if you look at the top 25, which I would love to be back in, at least three or four would start on top 15 through 25 teams

I still have faith we'll be back to being a ranked team. If these hires for S/C, & nutrition are as advertised that's going to make a huge difference imho. If those coaches don't win this off-season it's going to be rough.

It's possible they could, if they're coach able. I personally wished McClellan would have stayed, but it's kind of telling that he didn't.

torrence and Johnson don't count because they came with the coach. Piersall I will give you. The DT's were serviceable but people ran on us.

Have to beat Miami, especially since they don't have a QB worth a nickel. And keep Bain in check it's a very winnable game at home in a packed Swamp!
