He sure as heck isn't doing anything to stop it. Why don't we compare the immigrant numbers during Trump compared to during Biden? They sure aren't going to look good for your side. We need to bring back remain in Mexico. The asylum system is being completely abused and most immigrants never show up for their asylum hearings, knowing that "my country is a third world sh*thole" isn't a valid excuse for asylum. But then they are already here and good luck finding them. They want to claim asylum. They can remain in Mexico until they asylum hearing. Doing that alone would deter a lot of immigrants from making the trip. Literally Biden could do that today, but he won't.
Immigrant caravans started in the early 1980s with the war between Nicaragua and Hinduras. First time women and children from C. America started coming en mass. Traveling through Mexico as a group was safer. And Trump? His racist rhetoric may sound tough. But look at actual results, like the Libertarian CATO Institute did, and Trump accomplished nothing when it came to stopping undocumented immigration, let alone slowing them down.
Speaking of the way unions screwed workers and specifically the auto workers through the UAW's record breaking contract. Automakers with non-union workforce race to bump pay after UAW's record deals When a dominant union negotiates a contract all of the workers in that industry benefit not just those actually represented by the union.
Plot twist, putting fast food out of business so people go back to cooking and eating at the family dinner table.
Fast food is putting itself out of business. I used to grab some taco bell every once in a while but stopped because a meal there is like $13 now. For a few bucks more I can get an actual meal somewhere. It's wild now.
Say it over and over again all you want, it's not going to change my opinion. And yes I do think Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy made us safer and slowed down illegal immigration significantly. Did it stop it, of course not, you'll never stop it 100%. But you make it as hard as possible and it will slow it down. Accept it, your guest worker program proposal will absolutely never see the light of day. My side and people like me will make sure of it.
Unless they're about Trump. Then the whole snowglobe gets aroused and start dry humping anything they latch on to...
Then your people are idiots and we'll never solve our immigration issues. The Remain in Mexico policy created serious human rights abuses. And eventually, know what happens to any barrier as pressure builds up day by day against it? Eventually, it breaks. There are thousands of immigrants arriving daily. How many remaining in camps in Mexico before they say eff it, and all come across, knowing our ICE would be overwhelmed? Meanwhile, we have labor needs in this country. Have had immigration labor needs for generations. The only time in the last 50 years we've had a reduction in undocumented immigration was during the last major recession circa 2010. And right now? We have more undocumented in the work force than we have unemployed. Trump spent billions on a wall that is being breached daily. It's stopped nobody. Thousands more are coming every day. If we continue to do the same things over and over again, we should expect the same results. Or, we can try what two bipartisan groups suggested, including the Gang of 8. Won't solve everything, but will make things better.
life must be easier when you just decide that whatever you want to believe is the truth and everyone else is wrong lol
Simple answer, you come into this country illegally. You are shot on site. If you survive you receive medical treatment but are then immediately deported. Land owners on the border will be given immunity to defend their property and shoot illegal immigrants on site if they violate their property. Build the wall, very few immigrants will be able to get around the wall. Whether you like it or not, a wall is a deterrent. The wall is breached daily because it was never finished and doesn't have proper video and drone surveillance. I never said the wall was the end all be all, that is a part of a much broader border security policy. It's like saying a basketball goal without a hoop doesn't work. Of course it doesn't work, it's not complete. The wall won't work right now because the Biden administration doesn't want it to work, simple as that. I will fight against and vote against any politician, including a Republican, who offers amnesty or tries to push through a guest worker program. We will defeat any attempt to pass that. As for the humanity problem. Again not my problem. Who is forcing these immigrants to leave their homes again? They made the decision. They can accept the consequences of that decision. I don't care about any human rights problems because they created their own problem, not the U.S. If the illegal immigrants try to organize and overwhelm ICE and the wall then you deploy the National Guard and the Army to the border. You treat it no differently than you would treat any invading army/nation. You take whatever means necessary to neutralize the threat. I'm okay with never solving the immigration problem as long as your side doesn't get its way. A stalemate isn't the worse outcome. Immigration is the #1 issue for me in this election. We have to secure the border and start to root out the illegal immigrants in our country through mandatory e-verify. Illegal immigrants can't get jobs, illegal immigrants kids can't go to school and if an illegal immigrant goes to the hospital the authorities are notified and the individual is deported. Immigrants claiming asylum must wait in Mexico until their asylum hearing. We have to make it as close to impossible as we can for illegal immigrants to live in this country. That along with a true secure border policy will rapidly reduce the abuse of the asylum system and the illegal immigration into the country.
