Marion is definitely interested, but I just don't see Napier not having his hands in the offense even a little.
Honestly the best fit for OC is playing today. Memphis Tim Cramsey. Give him a watch. He has had success wherever he has been ( Marshall, Sam Houston Montana, etc.) Always OC and worked with QB's. He tailors offense to fit talent. He has had top rushing and passing teams. Does not try and fit a square peg in a round hole. Doubt Billy is even aware....
I agree, and BillyBall will look better with a sophomore DJ and decent OL. UrbanBall was weird the first season. Second season, sorta hybrid. Then took off with Tim full time. Imagine Spurrier if he inherited a running QB. So I agree with others. A new OC is a nice-to-have but not the most urgent. (Other than, giving more time for Billy to be CEO.)
I imagine Billy is at least aware of any Broyles nominated OCs... I know nothing about the guy but the stats suggest he could be a viable candidate.
The 2022 OL was pretty good, so I'm going to say that the players are the primary culprits. The ones that were brought in to replace the 4 that left didn't really measure up.
No idea, I’ve seen this referenced several other places tonight too. I know who some hope he’s talking about.
Our 2022 OL was better because we had a running QB that defenses had to prepare for. Long TD runs versus Utah and TAM as examples. Taking away that dimension with Mertz allowed DS to crowd the box. Mertz was a much better passer than AR. I know others disagree but think we will miss ETN. He was a special RB that had a vision and elusiveness that is hard to replicate. Mississippi kid looks like a good one.
