After watching 2nd half of their bowl game, I do think that offense could be fun to watch here or on a bigger stage in general. I was never an advocate for changing / hiring a new OC for the Gators as I think we're growing / getting better on offense "as is", but if we were going that route, sure would be neat to watch an offense that just looked a bit different and gave us a unique identity. I think Spurrier and Meyer spoiled us this way since each brought something new and that was questioned for its uniqueness whether it would work in the SEC. Marion's run game / triple option along with unbalanced sets is just that sort of oddity I like. But hey, I don't know enough about football to make those big boy decisions and to know whether the Go Go scheme could be ultra-successful in the SEC, but if we don't get Marion and some other SEC team does bring him in as an OC and it works really well and gets a lot of positive PR and stuff because of its uniqueness.... well damn, I'll not be happy! lol
TAM had also just announced the hire of the former KSU OC as their OC. I’m advocating for the hiring of an experienced OC that has proven themselves at other organizations. Not a gentleman from Liberty/Korn that has not called plays or Marion from UNLV that has called plays for 1 year against lesser competition. If you can’t see the difference in quality and experience of those hired by Penn State, Kansas or KSU, I can’t help you
Marion has not called plays for only one year. He's been calling plays longer than Collin Klein, who was promoted to OC in 2022. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about so you just keep saying "[School] hired [some guy]." Name who you want or stop talking out of your rear.
Good choice of words, particularly "shiny". Defense isn't "shiny" and is what is killing us. We would have won at least two, maybe three, more games this year if we had a defense. And had our defense gotten stops, our offense might have looked "shiny".
Doubt it's Marion. There was no reason to wait until his bowl to announce and they didn't announce the day after the bowl so I would bet this is dead in the water.
Following this astute deduction... waiting for OC still at work in bowl game, announcement after... Korn?
Except the coaches with the OC title still have the OC title… so, no new coaches will be getting the OC title. Or, everybody will be getting the OC title…
