I didn't say it was "scientific", I said it was "pro-science" ... God doesn't exist in the realm of science, science attempts to explain things without resorting to magic and invisible men in the sky.
Do you think post #89 was mature? If you are going to call people out at least try to be an even-handed mod and not a hypocrite....
To be clear, i wasnt calling you out. I was calling out the "protest" using the Flying Spaghetti Monster tripe as some sort of middle school "gotcha".
I disagree, I think it was an effective way to show that any tripe about super natural beings doesn't belong in science classes....
For someone who seems to be quite comfortable mocking God, you seem awfully offended for me mocking your false satirical one. Can't say I'm surprised.
I'm not into litmus tests, that seems to be more your thing. But I agree with moderate cons on plenty of things. Wokeness on the far left has gone way too far. I support a well-funded but responsible police force. I support reducing a lot of regulations, especially in the home construction and green energy sectors. I support funding for Ukraine (which mod cons are for but far right are against). I'm a hawk on China and Russia... the list goes on. The problem is there aren't that many moderate conservative left anymore, certainly not in office. They've all been run off by the (ignorant) far right that dominates the republican party now.
Okay, I'll play your game. Yes. I believe the explanation is a flying spaghetti monster ... It's my deep and sincerely belief. Prove me wrong. And, if you can't prove me wrong, then that must mean I'm right. (There, see how dumb religion really is?)
Who says that anything you cant prove wrong, must be right? Faith requires doubt and uncertainty. Otherwise it isn't even faith. Could you convince Helen Keller that sound and light exist? If she said it was a lie, how would you prove her wrong? They still exist regardless.
If Helen Keller "had faith" that light and sound don't exist, does that mean we should teach kids that light and sound don't exist in Science classes? Science is for understanding the Universe through reason and observation. Faith is for church ... keep it there.
