It was beginning of my Junior year. I knew Manny the previous year and Tracy had just moved in. I was working at Tiger Hall (work study job in Admissions) when they announced on the radio that two bodies were found in Gatorwood Apts but they didn't say what building. I had friends in multiple buildings so I can't tell you how fast I road my bike home from Tigert Hall to Gatorwood but a landspeed record may have been set that day.

My roommate went home that day for a few weeks. My mom had just moved up to High Springs from Clearwater a few months earlier so I headed there for a few days.

Upon going back it was odd to see cops parked outside our door 24/7 and the Guardian Angels guys had shown up as well and were all over the complex.

Odd, surreal, and just a memory that can't truly ever be shared completely.

If you can’t block, you’re predictable and a liability.

Talk about showing your hand and becoming one dimensional. Imagine thinking "its ok if the RB let's our QB get killed on a blitz and put out for the season, the RB can still run the ball.

So what happens when he whiffs on a block and the QB gets demolished and is out for the season? Is his only job still to run? I find it hard to believe even yiu believe that.

I’ve heard from reliable sources that we are competitive with NIL funding, but the admin and coaches are conservative in how it is allocated. Goes to locker room chemistry and trying to steer clear of the greedy players like the Rashada fiasco. I support this position although I’m sure many of y’all out there don’t

I watched him for a couple plays last night in the bowl against UM. He had a pressure and a tackle. I think UM passed like 12 times, so not a lot of pressure opts... He looks the part. He's quick, an OLB type edge like Prince and Pyburn.

Exactly….there is a difference between having the money and not spending it vs not having the money. I can definitely see an NIL imbalance being a source of rot on a team.

I also wonder about sos in 2024 affecting some decisions with regard to spending - get prime pieces in place in 2024 and make a push in 2025. Maybe they don’t really use such a tactic but it did occur to me.

Not buying the team chemistry NIL argument. We lost our best Defensive player to Ole Miss abc best offensive player to UGA. Starters departing for other SEC programs. They did not go for free. Other programs have figured it out. Other programs are not losing 6 top 150 recruits on D the month prior to signing day due to higher NIL. Show us where it is happening at other programs where the HC was not fired or left. NIL is here to stay. Portal is here to stay and you better learn to be the best at it if you want to win in the SEC

In 2023, the 6-foot defender from Montgomery, Alabama, recorded 51 total tackles, including 11.0 for a loss, 7.5 sacks, a pass defended and four forced fumbles. Simpkins led all FBS defensive backs in sacks and tied the FBS lead in fumbles forced.

His success was the byproduct of an extremely busy role in the Western Kentucky defense.

Simpkins in 2023 appeared on the field for 771 defensive snaps, 121 of which came as an edge rusher. Simpkins also played 253 snaps at free safety, which was more than at any other alignment, 235 in the box, 155 in the slot, seven at outside corner and one head-up over the center.

This is encouraging. Tawaski Abrams came in #1 using this new rating system. Apparently it uses a In-Game Athleticism (IGA) Score™, a measure of in-game athleticism derived from position-specific metrics extracted by our innovative tracking technology.

Do we need to snatch up Eli Adam's before Incarnate Word or Arkansas-Pine Bluff get him?
