Ammon Bundy makes veiled threats while in hiding after $52m defamation ruling (msn.com) Hadn't heard about this clown in a while, but I'm glad to see his own stupidity has landed him in some deep trouble both Criminally and Civilly. First off, he lost a $52 Million civil defamation case to medical workers after claiming their hospital was really just a cover a child sex ring ... which begs the question, why are all right wingers obsessed with claiming everything is a child sex ring? Anyway, apparently, he got a bunch of armed morons to show up at the hospital and block entrances, complete with "wanted" signs calling out a few of the hospital workers by name. He's facing contempt of court charges for not retracting his false claims, which caused the court to issue an arrest warrant, which he is currently running from. But it looks like the court cleaned out all his accounts and seized what assets they could. Awesome. He'll have a $250,000 bail once he's caught again. Now he's calling on the true patriots of the world to "defend" him ... but not in a court of law ... he wants all your right wingers to "physically defend" him and protect his money. Please, right wingers, do that. "Until we defend each other, and I'm not talking in some de-facto court, we will be reduced to nothing. Fighting any other way is a waste of time and resources. People want to be popular and ask for other people's money. They claim to have the solution and that they are fighting the right way but it has all gone astray. As a people we must build a physical defense against the wicked or they will keep taking until everyone has nothing left. Just simply history."
My wife's law firm represented the hospital. The trial attorneys in her firm that handled it put on a virtual dog and pony show for anyone in the firm who couldn't come to their live production in Denver (they have offices in 9 western citites and D.C. so the virtual presentation probably reached something like 300 to 400 attorneys and staff). My wife let me come in her home office and watch it on her screen. All I can say is her partners did a hell of a job and they found Bundy and another couple of his sidekicks to be most unscrupulous. They found evidence that Bundy and his sidekicks were using these blockades of the hospital and the unfounded and at trial unsubstantiated and defamatory charges as fund raising bait. I don't recall specific figures on how much donations Bundy and crew were taking in but since he can't seem to pay the verdict I have to assume all of that money has vanished into his and his friends pockets. I'm very much opposed to sex trafficking and gender changes on minors but while that was the drum Bundy and crew were beating they picked the wrong hospital system. This hospital had no choice but to defend themselves as it was a public relations nightmare for them in a conservative state like Idaho. There will be many who just jump on this and claim this is what all those MAGA republicans are all about but I think you need to create a special category, far to the right of MAGA, for the Bundys of the world and probably you can dump into that category the extremist environmental and progressive elements who are wrecking havoc on free capitalism as well.

I think the Bundys go looking under every nook and cranie to find some nitch situation to stir up their rather well calculated criminal/political shtick to stay pertinent in those circles they travel in and to keep the social security checks from their adoring public coming in.
