UF will rise like a Phoenix, from the ashes, and shall DOMINATE, the SEC East next year. The Swamp Beast is BACK, baybee!

Do you really think he's a good coach? His DB strategy is to strip the ball rather than tackle the ballcarrier. I cannot stand that man.

Looks to me that the DB at UGA tackle better than any team in the country

They were doing that before he got there. Again, that’s Dumb Dumb’s defense.

You are thinking about the last few Gators coaches . We played defense when Champ was here

I don't think defense was the problem in the Champ years.

For all the warranted criticism of the offense, defense and special teams, are what have been most disappointing about Napiers squads.

Improve those two sides of the ball and with offensive line improvement, just might be a fun year.

It’s a lot harder to figure out who ‘has it’ versus being able to see who ‘doesn’t’. And that ‘it’ factor has everything to do with a Coach being super successful or not. And that ‘it’ is something that basically you are born with or you aren’t. Jumbo lucked into crab legs boy, elsewise he’d a never sniffed a championship. He doesn’t ‘have it’. While we can look back and see that Spurrier had ‘it’. Meyer had ‘it’. Saban has ‘it’. The jury is still out on whether Kirby has ‘it’ or whether he’s just at the perfect place that is willing to pay whatever it takes to win some titles. Time will tell however if he has that ‘it’ that Saban has. With CBN, I simply don’t see that ‘it’. And I’m inclined to suspect that he’ll never develop it. I further suspect that it would take to long a ‘process’ for him to ever get to anywhere close to having that ‘it’. So I expect we will see some further ‘rearrangements’ of the chairs on the deck and then we will witness more of the same next season. After which we face the process of guaranteed years of mediocrity or rolling the dice to see if we can stumble into a Coach that comes through the door with that ‘it’ factor that players rally around. Time will tell.

What goes into hiring an AD? Is it mostly the ability to wine and dine boosters to get money? And is it the President of the University that hires him or a committee?

or there is the possibility that he turns it around and in three years we are winning 10+ games a year and competing for playoffs

Looking forward to the 2024 season I see:
    • The hiring of a Offensive Coordinator and or the assignment or the hire of a Special Teams coach for game time duty.
    • There was not much turnover with the Gator Offensive players. In other words the Gators kept more than they lost due to the portal and graduation. Thus, next year the Gators Offense will have a lot of players who have played together two or more seasons. This continuity does build a good offense. At the least a mediocre improvement will produce; less missed or poorly executed blocks, less holding calls, fewer blown assignments, more running plays with positive yards, and the passing game will be more vertical (down field).
    • There was not much turnover with the Gator Defensive players. As a result the Gators will still be deep with at all positions whit who have played together two or more years. Even with a mediocre improvement, we will see the Defense; shed-deflect the opposing O-linemen blocks, make more tackles, put more pressure on the opposing QB, cover the receivers, and see less blown assignments. Thus, the Gator will give up fewer points, and hopefully keep the Gator Offense on the field more.

Anything is possible, some things are highly unlikely. I HOPE that he can get together to such a degree for this next season that it is justifiable to keep him on. Now that doesn’t mean
That we’ve got to win 9+ games (although it would help), but it DOES mean that we look like a team that is actually prepared and develops each and every single week beginning to end. Give us some hope and reason To believe , Billy! The fan base would love for you to be the guy.
