I think that a lot of it goes back to having weak or mentally-challenged U.S. presidents. We haven't had an intelligent, strong president since Bush, Sr. Biden probably comes as close as anyone else as far as foreign policy. We've had strong, decisive idiots like Trump and GWB. We've had misguided intellectuals like Obama and Clinton who were fairly weak on foreign policy. Bad leadership lets aggressor nations think that starting something might be a good idea. America does not seem to value intelligence and wisdom in their leaders anymore. We seem to like confidence men, and men who would be good to sit down and drink a beer with, and people who can sling insults. I'm not sure where our education system went sideways on this . . .
Probably a good call by the U.S. Navy. Aircraft carriers are huge floating targets … Iranians Claim IRGC Chased US Aircraft Carrier Out Of Persian Gulf | ZeroHedge
Very nice clown article. Maybe "zero" is Iranian for "brain-dead". I tend to not trust articles written by people not smart enough to spell "Persian Gulf", or smart enough to question the absurd claims of the Iranian navy, which is a joke of a navy. Maybe the Persona Gulf is an bathtub mock-up of the Persian Gulf, and Iran's plastic attack boats chased out the plastic aircraft carrier. Brought to you by Mattel.
The U.S. has figured out how the Houthi's are targeting ships in the Red Sea and off the coast of Yemen. An Iranian spy ship is providing information. The question is, what is the U.S. going to do about it? Iranian Spy Vessel Directs Houthi Rebel Attacks in Red Sea: WSJ
Iran has declared itself in charge of the Straits of Gibraltar. If Israel and the U.S. don't do what Iran says (like stop fighting in Gaza and allow to, then it will shut down sea traffic through the Straits. They do not appear to have any ability to do anything at the Straits, unless they have some terrorist attack planned. Iran threatens to shut Strait of Gibraltar as tensions ramp up (yahoo.com)
A couple of complications for the U.S. in Iran's war on shipping. One is that France, Italy, and Spain refuse to provide naval ships unless the E.U. is in command of the entire operation; they will not submit to U.S. command over their vessels. The other complication is that a ship was attacked 200 miles off the coast of India, and 1200 miles away from Yemen. No one is sure that Yemen has or doesn't have drones with that range, or whether the drone was launched from Iran. Cracks Form In New Naval Coalition, Drone Strikes Spread To Indian Ocean (yahoo.com)
As far as I'm concerned, if Iran and Yemen want to bomb ships with drones, other countries should give them a taste of their own medicine.
A big part of Iran's problem is that they have not been involved in a major war with a western country in a very long time (perhaps centuries). The only war they have been involved with is the one with Iraq in the 1980's, and Iraq was not able to teach them anything worthwhile. Unfortunately, they have not learned the lesson of being held accountable for their actions. As a result, their support of terrorism and undermining of other countries has only expanded.
Operation Prosperity unraveling. US Navy realizes it’s not outfitted to wage war against the Houthis.
If Iran has asserted authority over the Strait of Gibraltar, then I recommend someone give them a map and a ruler.
Wouldn't seem that hard to mechanically disable that ship if they wanted to. Not that hard to get some cables wrapped up in a prop. Biden is giving Iran too wide of a path which will only embolden them
We should be forever thankful that we helped overthrow a democracy in Iran back in the 1950s. (Ditto Guatemala, for dictatorship as a favor to the United Fruit Company). It was the years of I Like Ike. I'm old enough to remember the joke about the Eisenhower Doll. "You wind it up and it doesn't do anything for eight years." Yeah, right. People were really paying attention, weren't they?
Eisenhower needs to go to the end of your hate list. Iran was just one of our something like 200 military interventions and/or deposals since WWII.
I am in favor of eliminating all command and control that Iran has. They seem to arm terrorists all over the world and look innocent when the terrorists strike. Some aproportional responses seem in order.
I’ve asked you previously and nicely to cease interacting with anything I post just as I’ve done to the snide condescending America-hating Pro-Russian gibberish you post in exclusion to all else. You are now my first and only ignore.
