I hope she can get into Florida's program. I think the new class starts next fall. I think she came to UF with the intent to apply. But no matter, she'll be a good one wherever she decides to go. She made a good first impression with me.
If there is such a thing I have dentiphobia. I have panic attacks in the dental chair and literally have to have them use oral sedation every time I have work done.
It is a real thing. I encountered several in my years of practice. We used N2O, and oral sedation with a DD. I had one patient we had to knock out. A mutual friend told me I could chase him around the world holding a needle. Just don't drop it.
I had a dental phobia for many years. My dentist when I was a kid didn’t use novacaine because he thought the needle was scarier than the drill. Spoiler alert, it’s not. Messed me up for a long time. Got better with some good dentists though. This is true, when I first went back to the dentist after a few years my BP was 148/95 or something. By my fourth visit there it was like 114/78.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the softball posters. We have a lot to look forward to with the season starting in 46 days and the board becoming more active. These football boards are getting me down. Time for a positive change. Go Gators
Most of us as Florida fans and rightfully so are upset that Etienne jumped ship and went to a rival. What goes around comes around. Just about the best thing that has happened to Florida softball is when Skyler decided to flee Alabama. I'd say we got the better of the two flips.
Agreed. While some of the NIL craziness has come to softball, maybe we'll be somewhat immune as a non-revenue sport. Obviously, a player would have a different view, but as a fan it's sad to see what made college sports so great come to an end in our lifetime. Here's a quote I posted in another thread which I think summarizes things perfectly: Conferences are no longer groups of like-minded schools with shared history and geography, they are media companies that exist to aggregate and sell the broadcast rights of their members. The next step in that evolution is an obvious one: The most valuable members keep congregating and shedding the dead weight until you end up with two leagues that look like college football’s answer to the AFC and NFC.
I would not say we are immune from NIL: we whiffed on Alex Storako to OK, Kelly Maxwell to OK, Alana Vawter to South Carolina. These were due to NIL money. The strangest one was Maxwell from OK St to OK. That was giving the finger to the whole program. I bet she won’t be invited to any reunions. Can you imagine E going to the SOW?
The failures of the athletic department to develop a viable NIL plan in comparison with other big-boy schools has hurt all of our sports programs, IMO. Football is the money machine that drives the whole thing and we're getting killed by NIL deficiencies there. Softball has definitely been negatively impacted as well, although for now Tim Walton has recruited his way to ongoing success for the near future at least.
