Not sure where I fall, I’m 59 and when I was high school (Crestview, FL) all we talked about was UF/FSU. I knew one UGA fan and a few Bama fans at our school but it was 99% Gators and Noles and that is all we cared about.
No offense taken. That’s why Baskin Robbin’s has 31 flavors. But every time I hear that war chant, I want to scream.
Maybe an Odd one. I notice most of older gators on here that probably went to school pre HBC hate UGA and most of the younger guys that probably went to school in the 90s and later hate FSU. Just an observation.
I'm 71 and I can't honestly distinguish between my dislike for FSU & Georgia. I've been a Gator since the early 60's and Georgia ruined so many of our SEC title hopes, but FSU is just GROSS!. I hope in their bowl game that they both play horribly and it ends in a tie, but I've always said my 2nd favorite team is whoever is playing FSU and my 3rd favorite team is whoever is playing Georgia. Hate 'em both.
It came on local TV NEWS Monday evening that now he is a Georgia Bulldog! very disappointing, he was such a wonderful player for the Gators!
I don't want to ruin this lovefest, but Merry Christmas to all. One thing we can all be thankful for is Bama beating Georgia. Had tlhe butt-sniffers won, we probably could be looking at a matchup between the GA-F$U in the NC. The only acceptable outcome in that hypothetical case would have been a meteor strike. I turned 70 last year... I'm not an old time gator fan, (only since the early 90's) when i move to FL and kids started attending UF. I believe many hate the criminoles because of Filthy Bowden and their underhanded tactics throughout the years, the butt-sniffers being irrelevant from most of the 1980's to 2015 when Kirby the douchebag was hired, and F$U being an alternative for many of our children and their friends (for those who live in Florida) I don't buy the argument about Georgia taking him to hurt us, as I'm not sure with our RB room it's going to hurt us terribly, and they are more interested in beating their other SEC rivals that can prevent them winning a conference championship ( we aren't currently a factor in that) I understand us having all those defections in recruiting this past year due to, IMO, all the negativity around our program.... and also NIL which is going to cause more of these late flips throughout college football. Teams no longer need a long term relationship to flip a kid, all they need is some relationship and a better NIL offer. The negativity is probably the straw that broke the camels back in some of these flips we lost. CBN has the opportunity this year, against all odds, to surprise us all and and put together a solid record. Many consider him succeeding this year unlikely. IMO, no need for us to project a worst case scenario as worst will take care of itself by changes, but if our team does exceed expectations CBN's recruiting for 2025 will magically improve. Improvement will make for an enjoyable year for all us fans.
Oof. Kid was a great runner and fun to watch but when you contribute to losses with this kind of blocking then jump ship to look for an easier path then you are what you are. Self important selfish player.
