Is it bad that I sincerely hope one of our linebackers has a Brandon Spikes moment and completely flattens him like Spikes did to Knowshon Moreno?

Can I call him a crappy blocker and hope he suffers multiple high ankle sprains through the season now?

Informative and judging by the ratings a lot of people believe this to be accurate, however, for the 2nd time I will have to debunk this notion that the D limited the O's opportunities to score. If the D truly had problems getting off the field UF would rank low in plays against and TOP against right? (notice I didn't say how they are getting off the field, turnover, 3rd/4th down stop or scoring)

Opponent plays per game: 9th, 62.7
Opponent seconds per play: 65, 26 sec (combined with first to illustrate we weren't just facing high tempo O's)
    Opponent average TOP: 9th, 27:10

We had a top 10 defense at not being on the field. So, what was limiting our offenses opportunities? The offense. First you left off some other ways the O possession can end without points.

    4th down: 9/22 40.9%, 106th
FG%: 75%, 61st (average, wish Smack was in sooner)
End of half: couldn't find a comparative stat on this one.

Now lets look at the pace of the offense.

    TOP: 16th, 32:11
    Plays per game: 51st, 69.9
    Seconds per play: 96th, 27.6

The offense had the ball plenty and took their sweet time with it, that was what limited their opportunities, not the D. And before I hear it in the replies, yes if the offense didn't hold the ball as much as it did the D would have been even worse.

Run up the middle for negative one yard, lateral pass for minus one on second down and false start/delay of game (your choice) on third followed by run up the middle for 2 yards on 3rd and extra long every series didnt help. AKA Dead Turtle ball.

So in summary, the defense is forcing the O to hold the ball longer and take more risks on long possessions, but that has nothing to do with limiting the O's opportunities to score.

    Brilliant.

What? Shane is one of the best members on here and posts numerous positive comments and threads. He knows his stuff and is a huge fan. You may disagree with a few of his comments, but this statement is way out of bounds.

Didn’t LSU have a worse defense? Didn’t seem to hurt their offense.

On one of the other sites several posters (who I can NOT vouch for) said the LOI went to the gumps.
