Brennan Marion and his "GoGo Offense"

Nick Saban has made the word process an over used cliche. Everything a coach does is a f’n process. Sometimes processes just suck and if there is no adjustment to a sucky process the coach can keep technically using the word with the same garbage results. “We trust our process..”

 

Our offense and our defense are both broken. Poor offensive play calling cost us the Utah and FSU games. There were also several boneheaded calls throughout our other games. And really bad clock management has plagued us the past two seasons.

The offensive scheme isn't necessarily inadequate, it just needs someone competent to call the right plays at the right times, and to be cognizant of how much time is on the clock, when to get conservative, when to show urgency, etc. Billy is good at the CEO stuff, but his in game coaching is atrocious at the worst possible times... the end of the Missouri game immediately comes to mind.

If our defense were better, sure we would win more games. But let's not pretend that the offense is good enough as is.

 

Back to Go-Go. Hearing a no-go?

 

This is classic. Internet rumor about him being pursued by UF. Excitement. Rumor accepted as fact. Then, internet rumor that he’s not coming. This will undoubtedly become another “it’s Coach Napier’s fault” dynamic among the “if it rains tomorrow it must be Coach Napier’s fault” crowd, despite the fact that whether or not an OC is even being pursued is still not known. Regardless, the fact is, the offense nor the play calling was a weakness last year. Defense was the glaring weakness; and Napier is making changes there. I get it: the proof will be in the wins and losses pudding next season. I’m confident those changes will be reflected in a markedly better and more successful 2024, though, even given the tough schedule.

 

Seen the same.... unless they're trying to keep.it quiet and not let it leak like the Harris hire I'd temper our expectations on this.

 

So are we back to freak on a leash or is something else going down?

 

Man there so much effort to do things behind doors and on the low with CBN amd staff who knows. The same person who tweeted "its not happening" also was partly responsible for spreading hope to begin with so who knows. I am confident CBN was "encouraged" to bring on an OC, we'll just have to ride this roller coaster till we find out.

Guess that it is time to go back to popping Korn?

 

Kinda like the pros run pro offenses, no gimmicks needed.

 

Playcalling and clock management had some blunders in an otherwise decent offense that overcame a weak oline.

 

Totally twitter rumors like Willy Korn, Orgeron, Partridge, etc. and on and on. Twitter with the big fish hook for Gator fans.. Gator fans writing the sequel to "Gulliver's Travels"......"Gullible's Travels"

 

So are we excited about a future coach, following airplane call signs, or just day dreaming?
