Can’t believe we only had 6 rebounds but in all seriousness, wow…wonder if we’ve even shot this well in practice. 27 assists to 10 turnovers has to be close to a UF record too
He is a solid player off the bench. Can rebound, shoot the three and makes good quick passes to teammates. I am sure, the coaches saw him take a big step for playing time. Stayed under control, even though I loved the behind the back assist, he also hit some longer shots and drove the ball well. Add his pesky defense, what’s not to like. Hopefully he sees what a real pg does watching Pullen, stay under control, setup your teammates with good drives inside and score when open.
Hope everyone on here has the best Christmas holidays and surround yourselves with family! The Gator basketball team has sure imparted us with exciting winning basketball this last two weeks. Merry Christmas
No kidding. In so, so many ways. Including (as noted in broadcast) looking to bench to foul to get the walk-ons in. Nearly everything he did was fast switch. Defensive closeouts? Check. Attack the rim violently with the ball? Check. Drive and dish? Check.
I missed the game due to wife and I taking our Mom's, daughter and a brother-in-law out to dinner. But the shooting percentages all around, plus the 27 assists are incredible numbers. 9-3 ain't bad.
If you had both Mom's with you - forget basketball.......you ruled the day! Mine is 100 and in an ALF. I visited her earlier this afternoon but was mindful to get back home in time for the game.
We've taken our Moms together out to eat, have snacks before hand and gift exchange every year for at least 12 years - our Dads are long passed. We pick a day that works for all involved and this was the day. The last 5 years we've gone to the Northwest Grille in G'ville. Our Moms get along great and it's a day we all look forward to all year long. Other family comes when they're able, but basically the whole day is given to our Moms. By the way - The Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna at NW Grille, rare, is awesome!! Next Tuesday we have our 2 kids and our 4 grandkids at our house for the day. That's a treat as well - 9, 7, 6 & 4 year olds. And this year we're going to make cookies with them using a cannister of 10 cookie cutters made by hand by my 92-year old Mom's great grandfather 150 years ago. My wife is making the dough ahead of time, we'll roll it out, the kids will cut out their own cookies and then after they're baked, they'll have homemade icing and tons of different sprinkles to decorate their cookies with. Great times, my man!!!
Upon further review... A nice win against an obviously overmatched team. That IS what you want to do, get it over so that you can get the reserves, the DEEP reserves, in the game for some live fire practice and tweaking things in their game (Napier, are you paying attention???). I am not sure whether it was that Aberdeen was given more time to get his game under control or he has one of those hard ceilings (a la Emory Jones) that can't seem to be broken, but damn, what some hops! He reminds me of a combination of Prather and Lane. He CAN see the field, can he see it against SEC competition? We shall see. I thought Rishwain was pretty pedestrian in his time. He showed he can make 3s in a variety of ways and a pass or two to him was not pure and so his setup was not either. But still, he has length to defend but if he isn't a "dagger 3" kind of a shooter then I don't see much playing time. It is what it is. Kubs (that is as good as I can do) is a VERY nice piece for next year. If Aberdeen can become a nice 2 reserve this year, they can be a REALLY nice combination next year. Anything to give Aberdeen a reason to stick around after the season. One more game to tune things up and then Everyone have a Merry Christmas!
