Lagway was named Dave Campbell’s 2023 Mr. Texas Football. Mr. Texas Football annually recognizes the most outstanding high school football player in the state of Texas. As a partner of the TaxAct Texas Bowl, Lagway will be honored on the field and presented his honor on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 during the Texas Bowl, featuring the Texas A&M Aggies and Oklahoma State Cowboys. This honor from one of the most respected high school football publications in the state of Texas, adds to an impressive list for the newest Gators quarterback. On Friday, Lagway was named the Bobby Dodd National Back of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta. I think that Lagway is a pretty good kid and will stay with his commitment as long as we are good to him. Of course, a little money will always help. But IMHO if Billy goes then all bets are off.
