FWIW, other sites reporting he’s a decent recruiter. Hope that’s true.

Tulane has been punching waaaay above its weight the last two years, and I watched them get a safety against USC (the big USC) last year in a bowl game. I think we can be really optimistic about this hire.

Both new coaches may be young, but they have plenty of experience coaching these positions, both in the NFL and at P5 schools.

The "proven coaches" only proved that those units were the worst performing units on the team last year.

Personally, I think the number one trait that BN looks for in a new Assistant is the ability to grow a luxuriant, manly facial shrub. I'm still not sure how AA sneaked through the screening process!

Two experienced coaches who were not getting the job done. Folks on this board have denigrated CBN's offense all season, while the atrocious defensive play continued to lose winnable games. When you give up 700 yards, career rushing days, or blow a game that is all but won on a 4th and 17 (against a top 10 team) as 3 DB stand and watch, it is time for a change.

ANALYSIS: Does lack of facial hair make a CFB coach more successful?

    CONCLUSION

Only 8 out of 62 coaches (13%) in the Power 5 have facial hair, which is significantly lower than the national average.
The results are conclusive - the more barren your face, the more fruitful you career will be:

    • Coaches without facial hair (.626) have a higher career winning PCT vs those with facial hair (.596)

    • Want to expand the playoff? Well the Top 16 coaches, in terms of career wins, do NOT have facial hair.

    • And most importantly - according to my analysis, a coach with facial hair has never won an NCAA football national championship.
Tip for aspiring coaches and current coaches looking to improve: pick up the razor.

I hope our young coaches stay until we win a national championship.

A lot of that could also be attributed to being out of position because of confusing defensive schemes.

How many defensive coaches have we gone through already in just 2 years of Napier in charge? At some point there needs to be accountability.

I said I hope this gamble pays off. I am just not excited about any of these hires.

Just curious: does hiring new coaches count as "accountability"?

If not, what would you suggest?

Make them all be clean shaven per ThePlayer's post #12?

Make them drink scotch with Marine?

Make them get pedicures once a week?

Make them rotate the tires on our player's scooters?

Make them wear Prime Time's hat and sunglasses?

Make them neck with Honey Boo Boo (the adult version)?

I could go on, but undoubtedly you have something else in mind for "accountability" although I'm sure that will change by the week.

Like the hire. I hope the recruits like it.
Both hires I think are going to help

Okay... now... who's going to tell Napier that he needs to get shaved up, daily.:D

Here is what a former Gator football player and others said about Chatman.

    High praise indeed.

Nice feedback from big Carlos from time working with Bengals. Not sure how anyone could say he is a good recruiter. Only 1-2 year stays everywhere and especially as an on field DL coach at Tulane and Colorado for a year each
