You are completely ignoring Trumps suggestion and offer for additional security forces, thousands of extra, and was turned down by Pelosi and DC mayor. They are who truly allowed this to happen. Not Trump. Get with the program and learn a little about what led up to a total lack of security. Or was this actually an inside planned event by the left to get the result they really wanted. Makes you think twice as so much just does not add up. Also go back and learn the actual timeline of events that day not just the three hours after which you are so hung up on. Come on man!

Not only is that a total fabrication, but in crunch time if the president says send people in, people go in.

It also doesn't explain why he sat watching the violence on tv for hours doing nothing.

You are completely ignoring reality by calling it total fabrication. You just don’t want to believe it. There is a reason the bias Jan 6 committee immediately made Pelosi and her office off limits for any investigation.

So you are blaming trump for after-the-fact actions. That’s far from inciting or being responsible for inciting the action. Who was responsible for capital guard deployment? Take a wild guess.

This is such a blatant misrepresentation. Shoot. I posted the speech. Trump never once called for violence and insurrection or anything close to what you keep peddling.

What people like you haven't heard about is that the mob attack was all part of a carefully orchestrated advanced plan by Roger Stone, Bannon, Trump's lawyers and your orange Jesus in the war room at the Willard Hotel to stay in power.

At Trump rallies leading up to 1/6, wi-fi info cards were handed out to attendees where the password was: seeyouinDConJan6 with a note saying, "It's going to be wild!"

Nothing happening on 1/6 was just by happenstance but Pence blew up their plan which is why Trump wanted his mob to kill him.

If you want to say he waited too long. Okay. Not sure I see it as important as you do. From my recollection. Far more damage and death was caused at cities across the country in riots that year than what happened at the Capitol. And that is not defending what happened that day. That is just the reality of the looking at things objectively. I have no issues with going after those that broke the law. But there is a whole lot more to unpack that was completely ignored by the “committee” that looked into the events of Jan 6. And there is a reason for that.

Yep. 1/6 was part of a greater plot involving the fake electors and Pence certifying them.

That biased article discusses national guard not capitol police. Thanks for trying. There are multiple first hand testimonies of Pelosi denying additional capital guard as well as the mayor refusing additional protection forces. You conveniently ignore that while hanging your hat on one AP piece absent facts and intentional narrowly focused to mislead. Why is nobody answering the question as to who was in charge of the capitol guard? Why was Pelosi and her office and actions immediately blocked from any investigation by the Jan 6 committee?
And for those trying to say this was a well planned riot then you are admitting this was a colossal intelligence failure to not protect the capitol. You just can’t have it both ways folks. Nothing trump did on Jan 6 called for violence. Anything prior to that date was a colossal security failure. Sadly there were enough idiots in town that day who crossed the line and gave the left exactly what it wanted and allowed to happen.

The article says that both Pelosi AND Mitch McConnell btw are nominally in charge of capitol security but they leave it up to the security professionals.

It wasn't necessary an intelligence failure as Trump had many sycophant allies in the government and the ability to squash things he didn't want out.

You live by the kind of ignorance that says because John Gotti tells underlings "take care of the John Smith problem" and John Smith ends up dead in a landfill, you can't blame Gotti because he never literally said, "Kill John Smith." Trump speaks in mob language also.

If Trump didn't tell his followers to do what they did, why do so many of them think he told them to do those things?

You don't think it's important that the President of the United States, while our Capitol building was being overrun in an effort to halt the peaceful transition of power, didn't do anything to prevent that??? It would have taken next to zero effort to immediately send a tweet and record a message to people to stop. There's absolutely no downside in doing that and yet he didn't do it. People would have seen it - everyone has a smart phone. Could people ignore his message? Sure, but where's the harm in trying.

It's also inexcusable that he didn't send in the National Guard when it was clear that the Capitol Police were overwhelmed. Don't give me this BS that it was all on Nancy Pelosi. He's the President of the country and he has a duty to ensure the peaceful transition of power. He also didn't have any problem calling in the National Guard when people were protesting against him at the White House. Tear-gassed a whole bunch of US citizens so he could do a photo op across the street. Yet nothing when our Capital was under attack?

The truth for you is inconvenient because he didn't do anything of those things since these were his followers and he wanted them to stop Joe Biden from becoming President.

Pure nonsense. Trump wasn't a poor helpless, spectator - he's the President. He could have intervened to protect the Capitol and didn't.

Regarding this being an inside event by the left, how many hundreds of Trump supporters need to be convicted and state in court that they acted because of Trump? Are they all crisis actors? Their family begging the courts for leniency because they're parents got caught up in their support of Trump - are they crisis actors too?

It all adds up quite easily if you aren't trying to twist yourself into pretzels to find a cause other than Trump. It's going to be very clear when Jack Smith lays out the timeline in court as well.

You keep skirting the actual issue which is that I would have felt better if the did absolutely anything to stop it. My point is that he didn't even do the bare minimum, zero effort, zero downside act of sending a tweet immediately.

He should have sent in actual law enforcement reinforcements. He had the means and ability to do so but instead he chose to watch it all unfold on TV. The only explanation for that is because what happened on January 6th is exactly what he wanted to happen. I don't need the media or anyone else to tell me that. I watched it unfold on live TV in real-time and there wasn't a peep or action out of the President until hours later.

Yeah, all that. And the “heat of the moment” arguments are undermined by stuff like this with the J6 choir.

What cannot penetrate that posters exceptionally thick skull, is that not only did Trump fail to do anything to stop the violence, he had a substantial hand in fomenting the event. Again, if Trump didn’t spend his campaign lying and fomenting idiots who believed his lies and using a network of surrogates to spread his lies: Nothing happens on 1/6. Instead, it’s a traditional peaceful transfer of power like the 45 previous transitions before. A ceremonial election post-election process basically nobody cared about until Trump set out to corruptly hijack it for his own aim.

Q’s excuse “well those militia people were going to do violence anyway”. Well no shit. Some of them were also in cahoots with Trumps people and certain members of Congress. This argument “violence was already planned” in no way helps the argument that it wasn’t an attempted autoglope.
