Then you should be able to list plenty other Democrats who do this nonsense, while disqualifying all Republicans, since it’s only “typical” of one party.

    I’ll wait here.

    I was wondering about lawsuits.

Lawsuit: Dolton mayor accused of withholding liquor licenses over campaign donations to mayor

The owners of a chain of bars and video gaming establishments have sued the village of Dolton and the village’s embattled Mayor Tiffany Henyard, saying the village has blocked the renewal of their liquor license for their Dolton location because they have not donated to Henyard’s campaign fund.

According to the complaint, Lacey’s state liquor license for its Dolton establishment was due to expire on July 31. The complaint includes an exhibit email thread between legal counsel for Lacey’s and state regulators, in which state officials indicate they are aware of Dolton’s refusal to issue new or renewed local liquor licenses, but they instead encourage Lacey’s Place to pursue a court order allowing them to remain open.

However, at the time, village officials refused to take action on that renewal request, asserting no new Dolton liquor licenses would be issued while the village conducts what village officials allegedly described as a “tax audit.”

Neither the complaint nor a motion for temporary restraining order filed by Lacey’s Place provides any more information or details concerning why Lacey’s Place believes this to be the case. Instead, it presents that accusation only “on information and belief.”

That last quoted paragraph sounds like the lawsuit is a little shakey and light on the facts, but I would be shocked if this wasn't retaliation by this megalomaniac.

Dolton Park District sues mayor over car show controversy

DOLTON, Ill. - The Dolton Park District is taking on their mayor today, filing a lawsuit alleging harassment.

It happened days after a popular car show was canceled abruptly, apparently on Mayor Tiffany Henyard's orders.

Henyard is accused of shutting the car show down, because it would compete with her own outdoor event nearby. People arriving for the car show found large concrete barriers blocking the entrance.

The organizer paid $1,000 for a permit to rent the space, as he's done for six years now, but this year he was told he needed a permit from the village.

Mayor Tiffany Henyard Sued for Civil Rights Violations and First Amendment Retaliation

    From this Complaint:
    • Plaintiffs was one of several dozen peaceful protestors who attempted to voice his concern and opposition to the actions of the Village of Dolton and the individual police officer involved in the killing of Ms. Wilson
    • Instead of being able to peacefully voice his opinion, Defendant officers roughly seized and arrested Plaintiffs, held them for several hours and issued them a false ticket alleging that Plaintiff was interfering with a public meeting. On the eve of trial, after prosecuting the tickets for months, the Village of Dolton dismissed the tickets
    • In order to protest the police shooting and killing of Alexis Wilson by a Dolton Police Officer and the lack of termination and prosecution of that officer, several protestors, including the Plaintiffs, appeared
    • The Dolton Police Department barricaded the streets off from the protestors, in an attempt to prevent them from getting near the meeting

This post pretty much demonstrates, in reverse, how Republicans will blindly support Trump regardless of what he does.

    Sad.

The Dalton Board of Trustees voted in April to Sue the Super Mayor, but I can't find anything on if it's actually happened yet.

Dolton Trustees vote to sue Mayor Tiffany Henyard - The Lansing Journal

DOLTON, Ill. (April 4, 2022) – The Dolton Village Board of Trustees voted on Monday to file lawsuits against Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard in an effort to “bring democracy back to the Village of Dolton.”

The vote occurred during the board’s meeting on Monday night, which was held at 7 p.m. without Mayor Henyard, a practice that has started to become the norm in Dolton. Henyard had originally scheduled a virtual board meeting for 6:30 p.m. Monday, but then cancelled the meeting. For their last three meetings, a quorum of Dolton trustees have met virtually with only the Village Clerk, and without the Mayor, Trustee Andrew Holmes, or department heads.

The split meetings came out of trustees’ concerns about public comments being deleted and trustees being muted while criticizing Henyard during Zoom meetings, said Dolton Trustee Jason House. Trustees were also locked out of Village Hall while trying to conduct a meeting last year, forcing them to hold their meeting in the parking lot outside.

Complaint 1 – Quo Warranto, Complaint 2 – Lack of approval for hiring and firing, Complaint 3 – Violation of Freedom of Information Act policy, Complaint 4 – Spending without board approval, Previous complaint – personal security funding.

You’re sad. The OP had zero info linked and it reads like a text book summary of Desantis.

For you it is nothing but a battle of party. Must defend everything on your side. By all accounts this lady is corrupt but your first response is “where are the links?” and to assume it is just some Fox hit job.

WGN is not related to Fox.

Dolton mayor under fire for hiring registered child sex offender to inspect homes

DOLTON, Ill. - Trustees in Dolton say they are stunned and appalled by the latest hire made by the village's new mayor, which the trustees say was done without their consent.

The problem is, Redmond is a registered child sex offender. He is on the Illinois State Police child sex offender registry.

FOX 32 News has learned Redmond spent 24 years in prison in Illinois after pleading guilty to taking part in a brutal gang rape and beating in the Roseland neighborhood in 1991.

He and three other people kidnapped and sexually assaulted two girls, ages 13 and 14.

DOLTON, Ill. - A convicted child sex offender who was hired by the village of Dolton to inspect homes is now facing new charges.

He is now accused of violating his sex offender registration and is being held on $10,000 bond.

That’s because this woman is probably a narcissist/sociopath. It isn’t normal to flagrantly display corrupt acts. Actually I can only think of one other character who wears corruption like a badge of honor. Obviously she assumes no accountability is possible. Hopefully she’s wrong if the feds and state get involved.

I definitely agree with the notion corruption is rampant, and perhaps worst of all, in small towns and smaller municipalities (just due to small scale making it easier to “take over” or for big $$$ to buy influence over the little people). But of course city and national governments can go down that path as well if the guardrails aren’t in place.
