Our recruiting ratings are plummeting

It’s all the unpopular things I’ve been saying for two years regarding concerns. The Graham thing isn’t helping things right now.

Yes, that financial consideration is included in the overall state of the program.

 

I’m really surprised that anyone is surprised given how poorly this season went. Whenever anyone expressed disappointment in Napier’s on-field performance to date, someone always said, “Yeah, but — look! — he’s bringing in, like, a Top 3 class!” And whenever anyone would respond with some realism like “Don’t count your chickens. He ain’t brought it in yet” that brought on the worst kind of vitriol. The simple truth is this: Napier has been disappointing in all aspects to the present, including recruiting. That doesn’t mean a turnaround is not coming in this last-chance season. I hope it does.

Buy talent or this is what you get. We obviously bought a decent amount but decisions were made not to pay the ones who flipped. Napier got them to the door and we didn’t pay what other schools did. We now are forced to pay up heavily in the portal or we won’t make it to seven wins next year with what we have. That was probably the case even if we signed all those kids, we still needed the portal to win regardless. The hs kids won’t help win games next year. I could see the boosters looking at the situation and knowing the portal money must be there if Napier is to have any chance at success and chose to keep their portal money instead of overpaying bidding wars for 18 year olds tgat would jump at money anyway. Stick with the ones that will be here in 25-26 and get some experienced kids that can help win now. if we spent all our money on high school kids and didn’t have enough left for the portal next season would be a disaster.

Me too. I'm hoping to see big improvement in every aspect of the game. I also hope they win all the close games next year.

 

Not like players jumped to an Auburn winning program with momentum. Auburn lost plenty of games with an easier schedule this year. Hugh Freeze had one good year at Ole Miss and still ended up 19-21 in SEC play at Ole Miss. they bought players with huge NIL payments. Will implode like TAM class from 2 years ago

 

I’m sure we are set up to play Auburn in a couple years and they will be loaded . Just like we have aOle Miss next year and they have a great playoff roster . We just have impeccable timing with things
