Napier is a better recruiter and it’s not my opinion. A couple of easy tells…average prospect rating and look at who we battle against for these guys. Do you recall Mullen going toe to toe with Bama and UGA for recruits?

Criticize what you want, but copying and pasting rankings from a tweet to support a baseless argument is no way to foster support.

 

The context in question was in reference to class rankings, which is not what you are talking about. With regard to your comments, we can agree to disagree for now. Hindsight is always 20/20 so my opinion of things may certainly change.

 

I was agreeing with you. Top 10 classes should have resulted in impact players on the field the past 2 seasons. The production has been nowhere near top 10 for many of the reasons addressed by other posters. If that is true of Mullen classes we have to apply the same logic/criteria to BN's as well, the key word is "thus far" because we don't have the ability to look back on the total production yet, but we are getting there fast.

 

What tweet?...those are rankings straight out of 247.
I not drumming up support for anything. I'm just stating facts. I don't need to qualify them with arbitrary stories and convoluted reasoning just for one coach.
Napier has made his own bed here with performances on the field and the recruiting results. He's still got the transfer portal to help strengthen our play next year, but so far the results aren't looking good.

Hmmm, those numbers don't even match mine. Probably from a different ranking service. But I guess I'm not the only one who noticed it. But yeah this thread has gone on a tanget. All you pumpers, keep up the good work.

 

Not even pumping. If you want to comment on recruiting, I’m pretty sure there are 10 other threads on just this particular topic.

 

Mullen's ranking do not reflect the many players that never made it to school. Sure, the actual numbers were better, but were meaningless in terms of making the team better.

 

Take it to the recruiting forum where there is a lot of talk about Mullen's terrible recruiting.

I don’t think the first year #18 ranking should be held against Napier since he was hired in December. To have a top 20 class with a new young coach who had to rebuild the culture was commendable.

This year, Florida is ranked #16 with 18 recruits (after two losing seasons) with two more months to go. Plus, we landed two top 6 recruits in critical areas. Playoff bound Michigan is ranked #15 with 27 recruits, so we are in good company.

I agree that we lost some games this year due to confounding coaching decisions, special team plays, and lack of player depth. But some on this site complain constantly. Even when we win, complaints. It is tiresome to read.

 

Step 1. Let all the DL recruits sign somewhere else.
Step 2. Hire a DL coach.

 

I think the actual step one is rapidly fire the d-line coach without having a replacement lined up with signing Day approaching.

 

Now who is our LB coach?

 

Don't know how good of a coach he will be, but 3 cute kids is a win.
