Who knows? Probably an overreaction to something like being blindsided by a text from Bateman and calling him or Napier and only getting voicemail. Voicemail because Napier is either taking a much deserved day off or searching for a linebacker coach unexpectedly.
As I read the tweet that isn't the problem. He specifically says he understands the business but I get the feeling that the communication from UF left a lot to be desired.
This is just not good at all. If nothing else, it contributes to a perception that CBN isn’t the CEO he’s touted as being. Just an unfortunate message at a time when other aspects of his performance have raised issues along those same lines.
Armstrong was hired at Ala to coach LB. Maybe Harris takes the backfield, Armstrong moves the LB and we hire an OC?
Teams typically have 5 offense and 5 defensive on field coaches. Never seen a staff imbalanced as much as this would leave us. more likely - we hire a defensive coach who also coaches special teams. rumor is Stapleton will not be renewed when contract expires in January. Either will move to off field role or no longer be on staff. And the new OC would take his place. Just rumors though
Bit awkward since Sale is OC so it would be a "demotion" but Billy has shown he's not afraid to shake things up. Will be interesting to see the final outcome.
From a thread on swamp gas, Bateman was offered the job this morning and aTm leaked the hiring before Napier could communicate it to the players.
It stands to reason that he informed recruits before they signed and explains why we lost Williams to A&M.
