We got our quarterback, and I don't need to say more, except we got a decent supporting class coming with him. So, I can say more! I expect DJ will put UF back on the map! Yes, we lost some pieces to our defense, but Napier still did a decent job of recruiting. GN, we have hope and optimism for our Florida boys!!!
I love this class. We have a program changing QB and an entire OL for depth to push the starters. Transfers that should have an immediate impact at DL, WR, OL, and some young talent to coach up. It was a great job for addressing our critical needs and we still have several weeks for our final here and there needs. Go Gators!
It's the only thing that makes sense given that BN's gator ship is sinking. Make DJ the starter and if he turns out as good as advertised, then BN's career is saved. If DJ fails, then BN was on his way out anyway. Nothing to lose for BN and everything to gain.
Yeah… we had a 5-7 record. Far from the #5 program in the nation right now, so I don’t get why people think we should have the #5 recruiting class just because… University of Florida. Top 15 class is well above our current standings.
Your last sentence is why that won’t happen. BN will do what’s best for Lagway and not what’s best for him. That’s why he’s a standup guy who recruits kids with character who want to be gators and bleed orange/blue.
Just hear me out. Maybe, just maybe, DJ should be the starting QB if, and only if, he earns the privilege to be the starting QB.
UF has the the perfect in-house comp (which has been stated by many poters) in Leak/Tebow. What's wrong with that scenario?
Let me just clarify: I feel optimistic about the offense; not so much about the defense. I am encouraged because our defense may not have to be on the field as much. And I certainly hope the defense can see some improvement. I am excited about the playmakers, the supporting cast, around Mr. Lagway too! I can't wait to see Mr. Football, Kahne Daniels, show what he can do! And speed to burn; with those kind of jets, somebody is bound to get open!!!
I'm willing to bet that Mertz, Napier and Lagway have hammered out a schedule and formula to get Lagway up to speed with the plays.
of the 8 decommits we had over the past month, 7 were on defense. Defense has been poor for several straight seasons - could’ve used that influx of additional talent.
