I feel really good about the two big guys we got this weekend. Feels like Christmas came early .

From the interviews I’ve seen of him I believe he values the total package Florida offers… academics, the chance to contribute to a turnaround, life after football, and of course NIL plays a role.
He seems like an instant impact type. The only area of concern is that he tore his bicep in the next to last game this year. UF was aware of the injury and he is confident he will be available for spring.

He will also be the DL coach so that's convenient. He will call a few plays on O and coordinate game changing.

Biceps tears heal enough in 3 months to allow full contact? Who knew. I know at least a couple of UF players that had pec tears that were out for the season.

I have to agree on all counts... but I think Napier makes that choice easier for him.

Slackman seems smart and had a targeted search involving only a few schools. Even though he never got the full recruiting experience out of high school, he never opened the transfer up as a -look at me- look at all the schools trying to get me- HS type recruiting circus. He could have waited longer to pull the trigger as he won't have to be on campus for another 2 weeks.

To me, that means that he has a very good idea of who his position coach will be.

Since I’m not a physician I don’t know how long it takes a torn bicep to heal. I do know that a pec and a bicep are two different muscles.
I also know that his surgery was on Nov. 20th 2023 and spring practice last year started on March 21, that’s 4 months where I come from, but I still admit that I don’t know the time frame for a bicep to heal… it’s possible it depends on the degree of the tear, and the location of the injury.
I’m just bringing information to the forum that I had read.
Perhaps someone who is a real medical expert in such injuries could chime in with a prognosis, clearly neither you nor me fit that description.

It matches with what Urban said about downs. You go as hard as you can for seconds. Also, it's a full-body workout that develops arms, legs and core.

Not having a DL coach announced does not equal not having a DL coach
