So, Pullin was 2 for 2 on 3-pointers . . . . - a 40-footer to take the lead at halftime - a dagger 3 to send the game into a 2nd OT Wow!!!
This was a hard fought game against a so-so team that played over their heads with hitting many tough shots and a lot of threes and we found a way to win. Now we need how to make good teams shoot like crap.
He was also money at the FT line. Hopefully that gets his confidence back, as he was seemingly in a mini funk. We need him playing aggressive. Obviously we have 3 guards who could on any given knight “go off” and get 25, but we need to get those guys more consistent.
watching replay and wondering how many missed traveling calls there were....Michigan guys picking up their pivot foot. already counted 2 in the first 9 minutes
Well, if Kugel keeps playing so out of control, he should sit (just like every other player that tries to play 1 on 5) In this game, he was a liability. But, he could come out next game and light it up because he is so athletic and talented. He should be no different than other players who have sat a while; like Pullen, Richards, etc. I am sure Golden knows what to do and will not humiliate him for a poor game. In my opinion, he should let the game flow to him and contribute in many ways that he is fully capable of. He is a tremendous scorer but forcing wild shots is not going to work. He will learn and have a productive year.
Look, the non-conference schedule is where we iron out the wrinkles, but we can’t make these kinds of freshman mistakes come March.
Every time I see that I almost go crazy. Your typical YMCA youth league ref would have called that in a New York second. A SEC ref would have called traveling twice, a personal foul, two technicals, and a 6 game suspension for the player committing the infraction plus docking 95% of his NIL largesse.
Holy smokes! I couldn't see the game live and just finished watching it on replay. Wow, what a nail-biter. Michigan is better than a lot of casual watchers think. Their kenpom was strong for a reason. Still, if we make our free throws and cut out some bad passes, we win this one in regulation.
If we make ouf FTs at a normal clip and guard the 3 at an average rate (or teams stop catching fire against us), then we are undefeated even with poor 3 point shootiner ourselves.
That would not have been a bad loss. We shall see whether it is a good win later in the season. I don't think this is a bubble team, just that it may get a better seed if Michigan gets good going down the stretch.
Because of silly turnovers? Jacking up senseless 3’s , free throw %.. A bunch of stuff must be addressed before we can be mentioned with the better SEC teams . Yeah we have a chance but not with these dangling participles!! Sorry I’m a glass half empty but that’s the coach in me
I hate to be a stickler, but a technically a dagger doesn’t force OT, a dagger is the shot that puts the game out of reach.
