Hopefully we close with a top 10 class. We always seem to recruit better during the season then close poorly down the stretch. Seems like this year is no exception, as we were recently ranked #3 for several weeks. It is imperative, IMO, to really kill it in the transfer portal, with regard to OL, LB, and DL in particular.
This is really just a perception thing. The only thing that actually matters is who signs, rankings throughout the period mean nothing. Even once we know who signs, rankings can be misleading since they take into account class size and such. Then overall it means less than it used to given the existence of the portal.
Need to wait until signing day to get a feel for this class, even though we probably already have a great idea of how it will end up. Hopefully long-term retention is good, but no way we'll know that for a while. How many thought Etienne would transfer? These things are unpredictable.
I actually flew overnight a box of Appalachicola bay oysters to Oceanside Cali about 10 years ago for me and my cousin who is an oyster freak. We sat on the beach and ate oysters all weekend. 20$ worth of oysters cost $500 bucks. The memories of my youth standing around a cooler with my dad and uncles, trying to get the courage to eat a cold booger. Priceless.
Apalachicola are nearly impossible to come by nowadays. I surfed many days in Oceanside Garfield Street. Our best oysters are coming from Texas, but it is what it is
They are farm raising over by alligator point and they are pretty good.....thank Ga for killing the water flow into Apalach Bay
Yes, put an F on Georgia and I’m not sure what happened to our East Bay oysters but I think I want to blame it on that damn horizon spill.
FWC told them to take whatever they wanted as they had no idea if the oil was going to kill the beds. Blame the Commission for that one. The killing of the beds as been a comedy of errors going back decades.
