Oh hell. One wonders if he put anything of value on the phone. Texts? Emails? What could they find?
    Google searches
    1. Orange toner near me
    2. Big Mac coupons
    3. Countries with no extradition with US

Thinking further on this if the SCOTUS doesn’t rule in favor of Agents Smith’s petition it’s a a massive win for Biden. He can do what ever he wants with impunity. No legal repercussions. He could then call a drone strike on MAL or down TFG's Fraud Force 1 because he is immune from all prosecution. Dark Brandon will be UNLEASHED! Problem SOLVED..

Edit I suppose he might be impeached but maybe not. Most of the nation would erupt in celebration.

Nice thought, but above the law only applies to their orange hero.

So Presidential. For only $99 you can get a piece of trump’s mugshot suit and a digital trading card. Is Trump out of money? Maybe his lawyers are demanding they be paid.

edit: correction- you have to buy 47 digital trading cards for $4,653 to be awarded a piece of the holy man’s cloak.

I can't even believe how dumb you'd have to be to believe you were getting an actual piece of that actual suit.

You're probably just joking here but it's texts between him, Meadows and others regarding aiding in the insurrection attack.

It would be nice if the adults could wrest control of the pub party back from the magats. If the dems really cared about the country, they would do what they could to help them oust the magats but I fear that the dems would rather have the magats in control so it is that much easier to be the lesser of two evils. Paul Ryan for pres with Kinzinger as VP would be a great ticket. Still have a hard time believing that such a person as the orange one has the loyalty of so many. Truly sad that those folks feel so disenfranchised that they resort to a carnival barker for their salvation

Fox Board Member Paul Ryan Slams Trump, Hails Cheney and Kinzinger: ‘Trump’s Not a Conservative, He’s an Authoritarian Narcissist’ (msn.com)

Kajiwara kept the conversation going by asking Ryan how he thinks history will remember Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, both Republican representatives whose political careers were sacrificed for their bold criticisms of the former president.

    Ryan’s answer:

Look, Trump’s not a conservative. He’s an authoritarian narcissist. So I think they basically called him out for that. He’s a populist, authoritarian narcissist. So historically speaking, all of his tendencies are basically where narcissism takes him, which is whatever makes him popular, makes him feel good at any given moment… He doesn’t think in classical liberal-conservative terms. He thinks in an authoritarian way. And he’s been able to get a big chunk of the Republican base to follow him because he’s the culture warrior.

And so I think Adam and Liz stepped out of the flow and called it out and, you know, paid for it. Paid for it with their careers. But I think, again, back to my earlier point, I don’t think he is really very good at these jobs unless you’re willing to lose these jobs. And there has to be some line, some principle that is so important to you that you’re just not going to cross so that when you’re brushing your teeth in the morning, look yourself in the mirror. You like what you see.

I think Adam and Liz are brushing their teeth, liking what they see. And I think a lot of people in Congress are good friends of mine who would take the vote back if they could, because I think a lot of these members of Congress, on the second impeachment, they thought Trump was dead. They thought after January 6th, he wasn’t going to have a comeback. He was dead, so they figured ‘I’m not going to take this heat, vote against this impeachment, because he’s gone anyway.’ But what’s happened is he’s been resurrected. There’s lots of reasons for that. But he has been. So I think there’s a lot of people who already regret not getting him out of out of the way when they could have. So I think history will be kind to those people who saw what was happening and called it out, even though it was at the expense of their personal well being.

His immunity BS is code for " I am above the law". We have a decision to make in this country: are we a nation of laws or of men. If he is above the law, then what's the point?

I'm not a fan of prosecuting Trump, though I guess I reluctantly agree with it. But can any Trump supporters here justify his claims of immunity? The old Nixon claim "if the president does it, it's not illegal?"

I used to feel that way. Then I considered the likely result. In most prosecutions of elected officials, you don't really consider recidivism as a risk, Bob Menendez excluded. To paraphrase Susan Collins, they "learned their lesson". Thus you balance deterrence of others against the sight of prosecuting officials.

Not so with Trump. He is plainly a continuing threat to public safety unless restrained. To paraphrase Jon Lovett, his first term was the "raptors testing the fences". If he is not prosecuted, the raptors will know the fence is not electrified and proceed accordingly

Yeah, I hope Republican SCOTUS reverses. It should require Congress disqualifying him or a conviction for insurrection, treason, rebellion, sedition/seditious conspiracy, etc.

There’s little doubt but what the SCOTUS will reverse this decision imo. It should, instead, be the people who vote the slime out in my view

Not a fan of this, as much as I despise the man. No need to make him a martyr, just kick his ass.

If SCOTUS were to overturn, but expanded by saying a conviction is necessary as you articulated, could that essentially serve as official clarification/precedent that if he were convicted for insurrection, he could be disqualified?

Proud of my state. A POTUS who led a violent insurrection to try and overturn an election should be disqualified, as they are not capable of living by the Constitution and leading a Democracy.
