Did Florida rush to judgment when firing Dan Mullen?

Nope. I like Mullen but he lost the team and the fanbase. It was over.

 

Yeah, lets bring back Dan "we will recruit in the off-season" Mullen back.

Regardless of how much this didn't work, that needed to be over as well.

There's a German saying "immer geradeaus" that applies here. It means, "always straight ahead." No reason to look back now. I still think he can be a good OC somewhere, though.

 

If he’d had an army, we might have seen a different result. Good(very) OC, not so good head coach.

 

Lets just combine all of our recent mistakes into one working staff. Dan for OC, Muschamp for DC, Zook for recruiting and Napier can run the show.

Oh and McElwain can sit in a corner making people PB&J's.

 

I say this as a huge Mullen fan- one who defended him so many times...

It's clear to me that he quit on the program.
He just didn't quit/quit because then he wouldn't have gotten his buy-out.
But have no doubt- he "quiet quit" during the 21 season.

We had to fire him- there was no choice.

 

Completely dropped the ball especially in recruiting!

 

I think he was tired of the college grind and the pressure of competing at Florida. Clearly he wanted an NFL gig, didn't get one, and something changed after that loss to A&M and his "pack the swamp" comments. He just mentally checked out and it was all downhill from there. Glad we got rid of him when we did because there was no turning it around.
