247 site predicting clowns are 'balling him to Texas, not their customers. Having said that... I hope you're right about X.
Recruiting changes daily for numerous reasons. Not saying this is the reason but when you tell X he is the man we need you next year and then you bring in the #1 Saftey transfer in the same weekend visit as him....stupid IMO.
Is that what Texas did? Or is that what we did? Who is the other player. Sorry so many questions. Ever since Twitter changed their format I haven't followed as closely as I used to follow these recruits/transfers.
Thanks, I somehow skipped that whole freaking page... Lol. That was a dumbazz move by Texas... But I love it.
Yeah. This feels like UF pushing him back despite his comments. Certainly not one to lose sleep over at this juncture.
No need to rush. Billy’s MO first 26-27 months. If there’s anything we need to change it’s the methodical no urgency mindset in this program right now. Gotta have “gotta win now” mindset.
Meh. Position coaches change more often than HCs. It should be a transitional position for the really good ones. I get recruits want to gel immediately with a position coach, but they have to know it is in the best interest of both parties for UF to get the best position coach they can. UF isn't the only school waiting to fill assistant coaching slots. Kids shouldn't be thinking they'll have the same position coaches for their careers nor should it be the primary reason for committing. A factor, sure, but not terribly high on the list because it can change in a moment's notice.
Very logical but kids are kids and parents are nervous. Meaning they want certainty even if an illusion. And relationships matter as we've seen many times.
It would be a awful/good troll if a coach encouraged all his recruits to visit a school paying for visits. Unless it backfired of course.
I do remember X saying at one point that "people do not know just how committed to Florida I am" or something very close to that, when confirming how locked in he was.... this was long before he began entertaining visits. Who knows.
if you are only looking at 2023, sure. In 2022 he had 39 catches for 674 yards, 17.4 yards a catch and 8 tds. In three of those categories he exceeded every UF receiver in 2022. All I see are posters posting his 2023 stats to say he’s a bum and no loss. That is certainly relevant, but he was 2nd in yards and catches for Bama in 2022 so he is hardly an unproven option. Or was til since he is off the board.
I don’t know, the whole thing is not set in stone. Later in the process, you have teams trying to sway them and entice them with a free visit. “You owe it to yourself to at least listen to our NIL deal” I would like to think I would pass, but I’m not sure what I actually would do at 18 and in their shoes. I don’t like this scenario after they are supposedly “locked in” committed but I don’t really blame them if they visit. I’m sure it is an exciting time for them and this is just part of it. You just have to hope they stick and this is all just for the experience.
