Russia has the largest country in the world by land area (Canada is #2, and China is #3), but it's still not large enough for Russia's leadership. Ever wonder why that is? And they are not buying the additional land--they are taking it by force. I wonder what they call that? Oh, yeah, it's empire building!

I didn't feel like making a whole thread but it's Ukraine related so I figured I'd post here. I won't post the video as I'm not sure about posting violence. There's a video of a counsel meeting in Ukraine and a man drops three grenades amidst the meeting going off the rails with arguing. He's by the door in a small room and drops them and they go off critically injuring 6 with others wounded. He died but was then revived I believe. It's going viral today.

Leading the world and ruling the world are two different things. It is a subtlety lost on many of America's ignorant masses and republican "leadership". Unfortunately, in today's TikTok world of moronic followers and celebrity worshippers, logical thought and in-depth understanding (or even shallow understanding) of issues often gets lost, and self-confidence and arrogance get substituted. Our leaders are elected based on their looks, arrogance, speaking ability, and ability to come up with one-line zingers to insult their opponents. Intelligence is way down the list; essentially, it's optional. We have arrived at the Idiocracy. We have essentially made that movie a (slightly exaggerated) documentary.

Now, to discuss your poor thinking. We invaded Iraq based on poorly gathered intelligence. We had a president who was not that bright himself, and a Secretary of Defense who was a career politician with very limited military experience (Rumsfeld was a Navy flight instructor early in his career). There were other reasons to invade Iraq; they refused to comply with no-fly limitations, they routinely took shots at our aircraft overflying Iraq, etc. Those are acts of war. There was also no guarantee that an oil-producing nation with an empire-minded dictator in charge would not return to conquest if we left them alone. If the U.S. had come up with an intelligent plan for the post-war period that went beyond "they will throw flowers at our feet" and "there will be democracy", no one would be talking about the disaster of Iraq. Iraq would be hailed as a brilliant intervention of a rogue dictatorship by a great country. Bush blew it.

On Israel, no, Israel is not the same as Russia. On Oct. 7th, 0.015% of Israel's population was killed or taken hostage by Hamas, which justified Israel's military response in Gaza. If you want to compare Israel to Russia, please point out to me where Ukraine initiated the war by killing or taking hostage 0.015% of Russia's population (or 2.17 million people). Exactly when did that happen? Then tell me about the torture centers that Israel has opened in Gaza. Then explain to me how Ukraine is one gigantic city, and that's why Russia is "accidentally" killing women and children, because they are located in the battlefield. Then tell me how Israel is invading Gaza to seize the trillions (or billions, if you like) of dollars worth of minerals (or other natural resources) that Gaza has, as well as the billions in food production in Gaza that could be used to hold the world hostage. Basically, Israel and Russia are polar opposites, other than both being at war.

The truth is, if Israel were as careful as you apparently would like them to be, half of their army would be dead by now. Going into caves and tunnels to attack heavily armed terrorists is an extremely dangerous activity, even for trained soldiers. And it's not all infantry and rifles in tunnels. Hamas also has rockets, which they use to deadly effect on civilians. And they fire the missiles from hospitals, not from Hamas headquarters, and not from empty lots. Israel has a right to defend itself. Deaths at the hospital where Hamas was firing rockets from become Hamas' responsibility, not Israel's.

Maybe you've been watching too many Tom Cruise and Sylvester Stallone movies. "Why don't they just send Rambo and Ethan Hunt into Gaza, and play the Mission Impossible soundtrack?!!!" That might explain your nonsense.

Whether ruling or leading, the U.S. can’t seem to win wars anymore, whether Republican wars or Democrat wars.

LOL “Ukrainian intel” when you’re seriously out-gunned, and marked for destruction, all you have is lies.

LOL, Zerohedge being pro-Russian. By and large my sources are Western sources that are not shot through with prior hatred for Russians.

You're not that badly out-gunned here, and I don't think anyone has officially marked you for destruction. But yes, all you seem to have is . . . (propaganda).

Russia finally discovered the Nazis they've been looking for. Russian soldiers carved swastikas into the foreheads of two prisoners. That's how you know that Russia is the good guys in this conflict. Extra points for creativity in their war crimes. These Russian troops will be getting extra borscht tonight.

Germany continues to become more serious about national defense, thanks to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. They are now looking at conscripting people into the armed forces again.

Germany's defense minister says that Germany cannot rely on the U.S. for support in the event of a Russian invasion. Apparently we are not a very reliable country for assisting our allies and defeating our enemies. Germany does not seem very impressed with the traitors and penny-pinchers in the U.S. Congress.

The Kremlin wants a U.S. president who is more "constructive" towards Russia. Specifically, they are constructing a new empire on the blood and bones of their neighbors, and they want us to get with the program. They need us to be just a little more stupid.

Putin wants US president who’s ‘more constructive’ toward Russia, Kremlin spokesperson says

There is a missing component to Russia's causality list....all the draft age Russians that fled the country to avoid being slaughtered in Putin's war.

Germany, as much or more than anyone, slow played aid to Ukraine. Putin bought a lot of support in Germany with promises of cheap gas to power German industry

Russia has had 90% of its manpower destroyed and is down to shovels. Yet, somehow is advancing on all fronts.
