Coaches appeared surprised or unprepared for these late visits as well. Schooled again by experienced P5 recruiters. Happens when you have a clew of lower division coaches and a lower division Army. Stepping up in competition QBs you need to work much harder to retain and flip. Think we will be depressed on ESD

If the sales pitch in September was “hey we suck, come play right away and build something special… look at all these young dudes playing “… how is that any different in December? That sales pitch is loss-proof. Nape had to have mentioned to Filsaime, LJ, etc that we were just a few pieces away.

 

This feels all...natural. At least to the way things work today. It isn't a death knell, just really bad optics. But we can hope.

I don't disagree that he seems like a good man and I'm sure the effort is there. It's unfortunate that criticism is so prominent and some of it even over-the-top, but let's not forget that instead of 30 lashes he's getting $7M/year.

 

I think the problem for many guys will be the development. It's hard to see where position groups good better through coaching. We had some individual players get better throughout the season but most regressed or showed no improvement

Is there a no contact period between Sunday night and signing day or is that a thing of the past? I can't seem to keep up with all of the recruiting rule changes.

 

It seems his process is for players to be here for multiple years for relations an growth as a team....not for one and done.
IMO you need a mixture of both.

 

For sure, he’s missing a huge piece in today’s game. Honestly, he’s got a perfect opportunity to flip things by using the portal properly and it seems he doesn’t see this. I already messed on several players that could have helped us.
