Sounds like you’re choosing to go to Publix, with that choice you’re gonna pay higher prices. Not sure why you want to call it greedflation. They chose to charge more because it’s a better shopping experience so it comes at a premium. One which you seem to like (based on your apparent disdain for Walmart). Sounds like you want the Mercedes experience at the cost of a Kia…
Walmart pickup allows you to get Walmart prices and avoid actually going in Walmart. I tried Aldi once or twice and just seemed like limited selection and couldn’t get nearly everything I wanted. Choosing to go into a store with premium prices for a premium experience isn’t greedflation.
Aldi is very polarizing. I hate it. My neighbor swears by them. She also likes Burlington/Marshalls/TJMax etc which I cant stand. I think it comes down to if you like consistency in offering and layout its not your cup of tea and if you are a treasure hunter its amazing. Although we all like Costco so maybe that isnt it.
There is a learning curve so to speak. I know people who decide what they will make for dinner based on what they can find at Aldi. They don't go in with a list. For us, we buy certain staples like certain meats, dairy, and dry goods. The wife does an online Wal mart pickup for most other things. We have a Perines for produce. Almost never use publix for anything anymore save for a few items. I wouldn't drive out of my way to do this but all of the stores are nearby and on regular routes so it works. Literally save almost 50% by avoiding publix. At that point it's principle as well as economics.
The greedflation is a thing and not just at Publix. I still shop at Publix but I also find things at Aldi plus we purchase a good bit from Costco
If it is greedy where one place charges a higher price, is it greedy when you buy it based on a lower price? You could probably afford the higher price, right?
You make the point yourself that it is not greedflation!!! You have choses but are willing to pay for what Publix is offering, that is not grredflation, that is satisfying your choices at a cost that hasn't stopped you from shopping there.
Oh, you’re absolutely right. I’ve chosen to spread my shopping around. Hell, I know people that work at Publix corporate that have drastically curtailed their shopping there.
Just like with many business that there are options to not use. They will profit as much as they can until market share dips, then they will either address it or go out of business. I don't believe this can be classified as greedflation as it is business doing what business does, try to maximize profits!
Publix provides value for their higher prices. My 90 year old parents go there, easily find what they want, what they want is always there, it is always clean and they easily get in and out. It is the value proposition. People pay for value, and adding value usually leads to higher profits.

I’m not sure I’d call Publix a “Mercedes” experience. It’s marginally nicer than say a Kroger but they sell the exact same products. They just cost considerably more at Publix but the store is a bit nicer, cleaner better lit etc. I only get BOGOs there now.
