I'm generally pretty accepting of players who transfer. If you can't keep your grades up, fine. If you're not playing much, fine. If you want to be closer to home, fine. If the head coach who recruited you isn't the head coach anymore, fine. But if Etienne seemingly doesn't have grade issues, gets a lot of playing time, isn't going closer to home, and his head coach is still here, I don't have a lot of sympathy. He's getting what he signed up for and if in Dec. 2021 he didn't already know that UGA was a powerhouse and Napier might not be all that, that's a mistake he made. Transferring because you picked a loser of a coach is pretty weak. You didn't see Chris Leak, Andre Caldwell, or Brandon Siler transfer after 2003 when it was pretty likely Ron Zook was dead man walking. They were ride or die.

I guess you haven't seen his blocking highlight reel... He's a great runner, not doubt about that, but he has great difficulty blocking blitzers.

Wouldn’t it be weird if he suddenly is a good blocker next year at his next school.

You would think he would get better instead of worse, right? That’s why the NFL likes them to stay in college for at least three years, so they don’t come to the league with a bunch of holes in their game.

Has there been someone we lost to the transfer portal that went on to become a difference maker for another team? Asking, because I don't know. We had to make room for this 2024 class, and the transfers we need to fix gaps... We have had some great transfers in. Think Billy has done good on getting bad culture out, good players in. Ricky was a beast. Mertz graded out as the best transfer QB from last year's transfer QB class. The expert writers didn't agree with bringing him in.

Guess those that used to teach now write i guess.

If a RB points out the Mike back, then the RB shifts a different direction, Mertz is pancaked, loses the ball... What game was that, it wasn't MJ that missed that blitz.

RB room won't be an issue next year, most seem to like this less wear and tear. I wonder if ETN just got told, your numbers will decrease next year, we have backs that are bigger and can pick up blitz... Ride your name and speed to success.

ETN writing always a Gator.... Maybe this wasn't his idea, didn't have the entire package needed, and kind of got cut?

Would be neat to be in on the know of these things. Also know, as fans, we never will be.

My final word... question is, how much money will he get in the "NIL" for his services at his next stop?

We at least have to recognize that these payers were rising upperclassmen that would have had to sit out a year if they had. Times have changed.

Rb’s aren’t going to be in the highest paid position groups.. I don’t see where Georgia is in dire need of his services. I’m thinking he just wants to join a winning team. His move probably isn’t just about money. He could go to Colorado but even winning that trash conference isn’t going to be impressive going forward.

Thank you, no one what's to acknowledge this fact. 5 years ago and back through the past, the majority of the rules were written to be against the players. So they had to stay put or lose a year or more of eligibility.

It wasn't all loyalty, they literally had very little choice but to stay at one school sometimes to their own detriment.

Hopper to Missouri. He never played for Napier, but still he is a piece that we desperately needed last year.

Not sure if the portal and the legal NIL's were in place in 2003. At this time I an under the impression that college players were pretty much locked in to the teams they signed onto.

Looking at the NFL model, RB's aren't usually drafted as high as other positions. I'm skeptical of top teams like Bama, Georgia etc paying top NIL dollar for a RB considering they all have a good stable of RB's on roster. Why plug in a player and pay top dollar for a position that will be one of two or three. Just my opinion on this.
